Pretty cool sonar
So far so good I got this today and took it out to the river to try it. First impressions where that it is smaller than I thought lol. But hey what can you expect for 45 bucks. I tied it to my pole with 17 lb spider wire and casted it as far as I could the current is strong here so I had to cast it multiple times. I used it for about a hour in water that still has chunks of ice in it, the battery is still at full life that's sweet and it found a lot of fish but I still did not catch any lol. The read out is super simple but kinda confusing because it does not show the contours of the bottom as they are it just shows 3 different sized rocks that could mean a few different things. Also it doesn't show you fish sizes just one size for all kind of deal and it has a graph for the fish dept it is not shown as a number by the fish just a bar filled on a column. Overall I think the unit is really good for the price but don't expect it to be super fancy lol..The reason I gave it 4 stars is because about a hour into fishing I lost my signal from the sonar due to a small amount of water getting into the unit. I think the screw cap to access the battery might have had some debrie in the seal. I will make it 5 stars after I use it a little more and rule out a actual leak in the seam of the sonar unit.Simple beginner unit for cheap.UPDATESonar works good and does not leak. It has really good range and was used continuously for 2 hours yet still has full battery. In shallow water it sees phantom fish. Shallow meaning 1 foot deep other wise it seems to be pretty accurate. If say this is the best sonar for the price range that's wireless. Changed to 5 star

Small on price, big on ability.
I'm pretty wary of a generic box with eight languages on it telling the name of the product. However in this case it's whats inside that counts. This device is very light weight, I could reel in the line while looking at the screen it's so compact. The display is basic, but informative. It gives excellent information without over loading the user, I'm sad to say I've seen three hundred dollar Hummingbird models with worse displays. The transducer body is a rigid hard plastic, with a tight battery seal. It comes with two anchor points, one top, one bottom for adding a hook/lure. The range is great, I flung it about 100 feet out from my spot and the signal was strong and responsive. One very cool feature is it tells you if you're over a weedy bottom, a rocky bottom or a soft bottom. And another plus, it's small enough to pack in a tackle box or bag. I really can't find any downsides, and if there was one, the prices negates it.

Replacement
Easy setup, works as it should. Had to return first one though.

Not very user friendly. Handset is In no way water resistant.
Read my description. The handset was inoperable after less than five seconds in about an inch of water in the boat. The transducer is anywhere from 2-6 feet off in both directions. At one point it was sitting still in calm water and saying the depth was going from 4-9 feet in depth… while sitting in the same spot. I was curious about the actual depth so I went in the water to see. I’m six feet tall and my head was completely out of water standing in the place the transducer was. I’m going to recommend this be used only in water deep enough that a 4-5 foot average margin of error won’t be significant.
