Excellent service...
The service proved by UK proxy server was excellent. It was delivered on time, with tracking. The product itself is a rather small router and simple to use. It is basically plug it in and you're away. I had done some research through Amazon.com as I'd never heard of this particular make. The router itself works very well through hard wired but I found trouble using the wifi. I have a very strong wifi signal through my modem router and the SSID would not show up on any of my wifi enabled tablets, or computers.I wrote an email to explain that I could not get a signal from the routers wifi and I had some helpful suggestions but unfortunately these ideas didn't work for me. I was happy with the product as I use the service through my spanish blu-Ray and television (Hard wired). This seemed not to be acceptable to UK Proxy Server whom decided to send me another new router without me sending back the other one. I would like to add that there was no extra expense to me. I was immensely surprised, as I was impressed with the speed and usability of the router. I would like to thank the company for their brilliant service. The customer service is impeccable, and even if the router is probably four stars, the customer service is worth six stars.Having used it for a month I have not had any drop in performance; I have a speed of 5.5 through my broadband and I am watching HD recordings on BBC iPlayer and can still use Internet radios and computers without a problem. The only slight problem, as I have mentioned is the wifi. I have installed another router (hard wired) to the UK Proxy router to achieve wifi around the Villa. This works well.If you are thinking of using this service I would highly recommend this company.

A Mikrotik RouterBOARD hAP^2 router with the admin user locked out, which you can reset yourself ;)
Buy this if you want a bang-for-your-buck home router that has the same features as an enterprise router, but buy it only if you're proficient with networking and have time to learn RouterOS.I never used Liberty Shield's VPN service so can't vouch for the VPN service itself or its configured state out-of-the-box. Please read other reviews if the pre-configured VPN is your use case.As I bought this for the sole purpose of using it as a home router and not a VPN device, I used Netinstall to clear the router's configuration and update it to the latest version of RouterOS. This is because you can't administrate this router as the admin user password is unknown to you.Once it's unlocked, you get the exact same RouterOS software that Mikrotik offers across their entire product range. RouterOS is not for the faint of heart, if you're used to easily configurable UIs for setting up home routers then be prepared to spend a few hours reading and watching videos about networking andhow to use RouterOS. With the confusion comes a lot of powerful configurability though. Some benefits of this router (compared to home routers found in this price range):- Each Ethernet port is individually switched, and is capable of 1Gbit *each*. A lot of other routers have a common switch for all LAN Ethernet ports + a Ethernet port for WAN, meaning you can't isolate a port from another port (e.g. for IoT Devices).- It has a built-in VPN client (hence why it's a VPN router). You could have a Wifi network that is backed by a VPN so when you want to jump onto a VPN, just change your Wifi network to the VPN wifi.- 2x2 MIMO WiFi. Not 3x3, but still pretty good. (Your internet might be the bottleneck past 2x2 on the 5GHz band anyway).- Useful diagnostic features like packet sniffing, Wifi spectrum analysis, and ping/traceroute built into the router itself.- Has a iptables-like firewall.- Has DNS-over-HTTPS (DoH) support built-in for encrypted DNS queries (this is how your ISP knows which sites (not individual pages) you're going to, as plain old DNS is unencrypted)- Has Wifi multi-SSID support i.e. can set up Wifi networks with different names e.g. for VPN, for guests, for IoT etc- Seems to be reliable. Mine's been up for 89 days now, and it hasn't blinked once, even at my max download speed of 350Mbps.- Barely uses its CPU - I guess the CPU will prove to be useful when using features that doesn't support hardware-offloading i.e. features that require the CPU to work.- Has a command-line terminal with auto-completion! Every operation performed on the router has an equivalent command, so you can write scripts to automate things. You can also schedule execution of scripts with the task scheduler.- You can send Wifi disassociation packets to an individual Wifi device. I find this useful for booting a device off the 2.4Ghz network which usually makes it go onto the 5Ghz network for higher speeds- You can add comments to a lot of things in the UI, e.g. "wlan0" has a comment of "[My Wifi Name] 2.4GHz" so I know which band that interface is for- It has an Android app, which supports nearly everything that the Winbox Windows app and the Webfig web UI can do - it's a bit clunky though as the UIs are designed for keyboard/mouse.I've included a screenshot of the Winbox Windows app. Please understand that while there is a community of RouterOS users out there, if you get stuck, you might find it a bit difficult to get an answer in a reasonable timeframe, or maybe not get an answer at all. Mikrotik themselves are quite unlikely to help you if you contact them directly, and Liberty Shield will only support the router in its out-of-the-box/locked state. You have been warned.I'm happy with this router. But I'll say again - if you're not proficient with networking or if you don't have the time to learn RouterOS - then please understand that this may not be the router for you.

Great Product, worth its weight in Gold
Great product, tested the speed and you get average 65mps, first time you test will give you 100mbs, after it settles down will show true speed. No configuration needed if you already have liberty shield account, great product for out of the box useage.

Outstanding - Highly recommended.
I initially bought an online VPN, which cost around the £80 per year mark, however this proved unsuitable for my requirements so I sought an alternative. As a complete technophobe I was sold by the idea that you could 'allegedly' just follow the instructions, plug this router in, drop an e-mail to Scothosts telling them which countries server(s) you require and you are good to go. Well I bought the Pre Configured Multi Country VPN Router - Pro in the belief that I would spend several frustrating hours exchanging e-mails throughout the night with some total stranger just to get this product up and running. I was certain that it would ultimately end up with the router being put back in its box, thrown in the back of a cupboard and never seeing daylight again. Well, the router arrived on time through tracked delivery and upon opening the box I was more than a little dismayed at the instructions as they were printed on a piece of paper not much bigger than that of a post-it note. Now my heart was sinking fast and my thoughts of this router being placed in a cupboard for all of eternity was being strengthend. I followed the very brief instructions in the box, e-mailed Scothosts with my password, gave them my server requirements and went to make a cup of tea. This could be a long neuron blowing night ahead of me. I got back from the kitchen and there was a confirmation e-mail from Scothosts to tell me I was up and running. I couldn't believe it so I changed my network to that of my new Pre Configured Multi Country VPN Router - Pro and guess what? It worked!!This a fantastic product which is extremely easy to install and comes with outstanding support.
