Do not Buy, terrible item!
The quality of this item is abysmal which is disappointing to say the least as I have other Iroda products which have lasted me well and are still going strong. Out of the box this item did not work, in general the design is poor, the idea of using what is essentially a refillable cigarette lighter as an insert is pretty poor and the route of the problem in my opinion as the lighter does not seem to positively locate within the body of the gun. The quality of the body of the gun itself is pretty much equal to that of the lighter insert, so about as good as a disposable cigarette lighter, pretty pathetic and an all round waste of time, avoid at all costs!

Good for small and awkward jobs
First of all the minus side:a. It contains a gas lighter with the flint and wheel removed and it comes with no gas; so you will need to fill it up upon receipt.b. You can get an electric, more powerful Hot Air Gun cheaper. The plus side:a. The lighter is refillable.b. The unit is small and can get into tight places.c. It works but don't try to use it in the wind and when using heat shrink tubing use the guard to get a more even heat.d. It is a bit slow on large heat shrink but fine on the small stuff.e. It is more controllable that the big heat guns.f. It fits easily into your toolbox.Over all it works well but will not win any prizes for the most elegant or efficient design.UpdateI have just had to do some repairs to a network patch cable and this heat gun is very contollable, It did the job with no burns to the heat shrink or surrounding area and the heat shrink reduced evenly. It did an excellent job.

Good but needs a redesign in terms of safety
I have had two previous Iroda torches and found them both great tools for all sorts of tasks, When after many years of service my last one died I decided to invest in a pair, one torch the other a heat blower. This review is for the heat blower used for shrinking heat sleeve on wires etc.Initial impressions were average the mechanism used to secure the starter trigger was a slide built into the trigger, it’s used to lock it out so it can’t be pressed by accident, it’s also stiff and nasty plastic, however, that said, it seemed to work fine. The trigger was still way too heavy for the size of the device but it worked. When my first job came up that required heat shrink I grabbed my new heat torch and fiddled with the trigger till I got it lit, this disturbed my setup as it’s not easy to use one handed because of the trigger guard.I happily shrunk my first bit of HS tube, I had several to do so started to work on the rest. This was when I noticed how hot the shroud was getting near my finger, and fiddling with the sliding trigger guard my finger touched the metal shroud which gave me a blister on my finger.I wasn’t impressed and I wondered why they had moved from a simple thumb trigger. So in summary the torch is good and does the job, but the trigger guard is ill conceived and to have it slide in line with the hot end is crazy, especially as it’s bare hot metal. My old one had the safety on the side and a thumb trigger which made much more sense.

Very Effective AND Easy To Use
I have done a bit of wiring in my time (motor car/ motor bike) and felt the need to have a proper heat gun for heat shrinking. My previous one was most awkward to use, the 'strike/on' trigger was at the rear. The old one also took some time for the flame to go out on release of the flame button, this one is instant, a great safety factor. This one is where it should be, at the front and the 'anti-child' is also at the front making it easier to handle and use. The heat/wire shield is also most effective.

Not professional
It is no good there is no power on the flame, it might be ok for a heart shrink or two but not professional in any way, there is just a cigarette lighter in there, i have their soldering iron and love it, so disappointed with this, the first one leaked all the gas out of the lighter, in fairness it was replaced straight away but still new one still no good.

Excellent low-cost small-scale heat source
I had a MJ-300 for years, which occasionally was really useful. This MJ-330 is a big improvement, much more reliable ignition. I am delighted with it. What I bought it for is polythene welding, but any small-scale heating is a good application. I have not tried it as a cooking blowtorch, for caramelising sugar for example, too early to comment.

Exspensive Rubbish Save Your money
Absolute tat.Bought this to replace my old gas soldering iron which has this function, but which stopped working after a fall.Neither the cartridge it comes with nor its refillable replacement worked. The lever that releases the gas was broken on the first and it was impossible to get any gas flow from the second when the trigger is pulled. A spark is generated but no gas is released. My guess is that as the trigger is pulled it moves the cartridge back supposedly pressing the lever against a ledge to depress it and so release gas? What it's supposed to do and what it does are 2 completely different things at opposite ends of the spectrum. To top it off, the shield that's supposed to direct the heat all round the tubing doesn't even fit on the nozzle properly. An attempt has been made to design it so that it locks in place with a slight twist, but the manufacturing is so poor that it just falls off. You'd be better off using a disposable lighter to do the job
