An Italian stunner
I have skin which tends to bloodily erupt, in the manner of Stromboli, as soon as I look at my DE razor, so I agonised long and hard over which cut-healing/astringent product to buy. Having read favourable reviews of the Proraso Shave Cut Healing Gel, I decided to give it a go. Allowing my beard to grow while I awaited delivery, a dense coating of hair had formed when it dropped through my letterbox. In the interests of producing a good review, I didn't use a fresh blade: No, this required a blade which should have been thrown away, yet lingered in my razor. After all, how do you test a cut healing gel if you don't cut yourself?!Having opened up a large horizontal gash on my chin, and numerous nicks on my cheeks and throat, I reached for the little green-capped tube and squeezed. On application, the Proraso causes an instant tightening and a slight sting, similar to a nettle. The sting is soon replaced by a glorious feeling of cleanness and an instant plugging of all wounds. Where once there were fountains of claret, now there were barely noticeable and bone-dry pin-prick scars. And I barely used ANY of it, meaning I can see this little 10ml tube lasting for weeks, maybe months! It smells wonderfully clean and unobtrusive too.So in summary, if you tend to bleed no matter what sort of shaving routine you follow, get some of this. It's bafflingly efficient, and excellent value.

Proraso simply the best old school products for men
Proraso do male grooming better than anyoneYou simply can’t go wrong with proraso products and reasonably priced too .This stops bleeding from shaving cuts so well and does not snap or go soggy like a styptic pencil can .Great value at £1.49 per tube that I paid on Amazon

Works Very Well!
The gel is wonderful compared to sticks for storage and ease of use! I find it very comfortable to use though there is the similar metal like taste. There is not any white residue.Like an alum bar, it stops small cuts very well. If I were comparing it to an alum bar, I would say it was perfect, but the price prohibits its use as an alum bar.For nasty cuts, the sticks do work better though I prefer the gel in all other cases.

Works for me
I've only just started shaving in a grown-up manner (I'm only 76), thanks to discovering The Chap's Guide on youtube, and jumped in with Proraso products as a starting point. Might stay with them. This item is great and despite having to take an NHS prescribed blood thinner which means I'm a big bleeder! when cut, this gel actually works. For me it is better than a styptic pencil and an alum block. I can only speak as I find. Peter

Nice idea but not the best
Used this a couple of times, once for shaving and once for stemming a finger blood loss due to kitten assistance in tying boot laces. It does help to stop the blood leaving your body, but it does also leave an unsightly white area.I'll stick to styptic pens and or little bits of tissue.

Great for cuts, on animals too as a last resort!!
Bought 2 of these, the price was significantly cheaper than the first one of these I ordered from a dedicated shaving site at the timeTo be honest, I've only needed to use the original one myself on a couple of occasions, and it does work well, but hopefully I'll continue to rarely need itHowever, where it proved super effective for me, was a mini drama when my partner was cutting the dogs dew claw nail and cut too far, drawing blood, going everywhere. The home remedy options of corn flour and such that she had been trying weren't working at all after multiple attempts, so soon as she informed me I reached for this straight away, and it fixed the problem almost immediately in comparisonI'm sure its technically not approved for pet use, but as a styptic pen alternative it worked superb, so opted for a couple of spares, one for self, one for med cabinet/pet emergency and one for son as he enters his new world of shaving regime
