I am looking into building a greenhouse myself. This book does a beautiful job of showing and discussing all sorts of construction techniques and the pros/con of them. Extensive color photography. Never knew there were so many ways to build a greenhouse. What type of floor, covering, vents, heating, cooling, shelving, insulation and more questions are discussed.

Great book With a lot of great pictures and great ideas for greenhouses

This book has nice photographs and many instructions for building kit greenhouses. There are a couple of build your own greenhouses and a couple of simple, small hoop houses, but mostly what to do with the sunporch kit or the green house kit. I'm sending this book back.

We are currently in the process of doing a design build of a small greenhouse in our yard. After hours on pinterest and looking at various 'shopping' sites, we finally realized what we wanted was just not out there. We needed a good basic book to create our own greenhouse. This book was the perfect fit. The first few pages walk you through what you might want in your greenhouse, then some nice construction plans on a few designs finally followed by some 'extra' builds to help in creating the perfect garden area. My husband and I have both reviewed the book and feel it was an excellent investment for our needs. The only weird thing about the book is the young man who is the model in the construction photos is dressed in slacks and a dress shirt. Just looks odd. Otherwise we love the book.

Not worth it

IM GONNA BUILD STUFF!! I’m new to gardening and have decided to build a nifty greenhouse for my tiny backyard. I’m so excited!!! This book is very informative gives dimensions and specific materials that can be used to build yourself a greenhouse they can range from tiny, like the one I’ll build) so expansive! I mean some of these set ups are bigger than my house! So want one!! If you’re looking for ideas and general knowledge of the how to variation, check this book out!

Just starting my greenhouse this spring, and this book is great. I bought another one at the same time for about the same price, but the B&D book is so much better and more comprehensive that the other one will probably end up in a garage sale after one quick reading. If you're building a greenhouse, this is the guide to have. Highly recommended.

Not just greenhouses but lots of other garden structures for growing things. This book is excellently laid out with great photos and info. I thinks it’s the best of its type.

I’d hoped that the guidance/plans given would be of a higher standard but they were really quite basic. Added to which the book seems to spend time describing how to set up kit greenhouses… wouldn’t these come with their plans?

Love this book, clear pictures and instructions, good series made me buy the shed version too.
