I have a workbench in my garage, and frequently find myself using an extension cord to get power over to the far side of the bench. I got tired of doing that so I picked this thing up.Installation was as simple as cutting a hole, screwing in two screws, and lightly tapping on the metal cover with a rubber mallet. The rest was plug and play. Works flawlessly, looks really clean, and I love having the USB ports. I appreciate that it came with quite a long cord to plug the unit itself into an existing outlet, so I didn't need to dedicate an extension cord to it.Highly recommend!

I really like this power outlet insert. There were some cheaper ones, but I liked this more for the smart looking brushed chrome cover. It not only covers the screws but can help hide any imperfections in cutting the hole. I am a total novice as to installing something like this, so I thought I'd share my experience which may help other novices. First on the surface where I was placing the outlet I marked out a rectangle 1 3/4" x 3 3/4". I then used my Dremel to make a cut through the surface on each side. I then placed my jigsaw blade in each of the cuts and sawed through to each corner of the rectangle. As it turned out when I inserted the outlet it was a tad tight so I used a file to give me a little more space. Ergo, the rectangle should be about 1/32" - 1/16" more on each side. Once the hole was complete the rest of the installation was very simple. Just push in the outlet, drill pilot holes for the screws, screw in the screws and push on the chrome cover.

This is a straightforward and good solution for getting power where you want, while it not looking like a cable mess with the extension cords. It is a very good addition to my work space in appearance as well as practicality. It gives me back room by not having me using dangling extension cords. I’m really liking the clean look it’s giving my work space.

Stopped working 2 weeks in. This product is such a great idea! Ordered it, installed it in sofa table, worked great for the first 2 weeks, then when we plugged things in the USB port to charge they no longer charge, or sporadically turn on for 3 seconds, then quit again. We have tried multiple charging cords, and none work. So sad. Now I have an outlet in my table but it doesn't work, and I can't just take it out, as I would then have a hole in my table.

This was a game changer in my bathroom. Being able to move the outlet from it's inconvenient spot behind the toilet to the side of my vanity cabinet has been extremely convenient. The design is a little weird, in that there is not a lot of overlap between the hole you need to cut out and the switch plate's outer edge, so if you cut the hole even blade-width too wide, you will be able to see it. It would have been easier to measure if the switchplate had come with a pattern or something. Aside from that, however, I am very satisfied.

I built my kid a floating desk, and used this outlet. It looks nice and was easy to install. However, I noticed a fluctuation in the USB-powered LED lights and also that a wireless charger cuts out when charging a phone. Neither problem occurs when the USB connections are plugged into a power brick on the electrical outlets. There must be something wonky with the USB ports. Seeing that others have had similar problems means I’d recommend goi g with another product.

Great item. Easy to install. Now my computer desk looks less cluttered .

I bought two of these in mid January, installed them in early February and as of March 10, one of them has shorted out and will not charge via usb cable, the regular plugs are fine though. It figures that both pieces were working fine prior to the return window closing so I am stuck with a nightstand outlet that doesn’t work. Major bummer! I was really enjoying the item prior to this and I’m not sure I’d pay another $25 to replace it. Aside from half of one of the two pieces I bought not working, I would recommend these. They look nice and work well, and install easily. If the seller is reading, I would love to work something out with you guys!!
