At last a long lasting non-stick fry pan.
Best fry pan ever. I bought 4 of them because I like them so much. My advice is don't use high heat and don't put it in the dishwasher and it will last a long time. It takes 10 seconds to wash it in the sink with a sponge and regular dish soap. I kid you not. I've seen these in restaurants so I know they are pro level. The aluminum is light but has some heft to it. The pan heats evenly. The non-stick surface is premium and as long as you use a plastic or rubber spatula it won't scratch or mark. Don't use a metal one. I like how the handle rivets don't intrude into the pan. Thats a wonderful improvement over the older models.

Best Scrambled Eggs Ever
This Tremontina heavy duty aluminum skillet is a joy to use and easy to clean. I chose Tremontina after reading Wirecutters' review and I am not disappointed. I wanted a nonstick skillet to reduce my use of butter in cooking eggs, which I eat every day. What a delightful surprise to discover that not only am I using much less butter but the scrambled eggs are lighter and fluffier than any I've made before. Being able to cook at a lower heat and using a silicone spatula to flip the eggs instead of using a fork to stir them is a great improvement. The even heating provided by the pan ensures consistent positive results. Highly recommend.

Love this little pan
I had a Tramontina pan that was at least 25 years old. It held up extremely well, but the non-stick coating was beginning to show a multitude of little holes. I purchased this new pan because I admired the brand and the fact that they still produce some of their products in the USA. Make sure to review the descriptions carefully, most of their stuff is now imported. This pan is made in the USA.What I like the most is that the quality has gone UP, not down, over the years. I weighed this pan and the old one, and this new one is 102 grams heavier. The metal is noticeably thicker, and given that the old pan never warped or dented, it seems likely that the extra weight is there just for better heating.I especially like the "rivet-less" handle design. The handle is still held on by rivets (more secure than spot welds IMO), but they are rivets formed integrally from the pan metal itself, so there are no rivet heads inside the pan. This really makes clean-up quicker and you don't have to think about minute bits of rotting food being stuck in there.I believe the non-stick coating is thicker, but also softer, than the previous version. One reviewer noted that cooking a chop with bone in it left gouging in the non-stick. I would say this is a definite risk. But for everything else, the coating is fantastic. I've been using this frequently for two months and it looks pristine. A quick sponge and detergent, no pressure or scrubbing needed, and dry it off. Bingo! The images include side by sides to show the added thickness, and also the rivetless design.UPDATE: It's been 10 months and I'm still very happy with the pan. I use it roughly every other day, and the surface is completely intact except for a multitude of very fine superficial scratches. If the light hits it one way these scratches are invisible. If the light hits the other way you can see them quite readily. I cannot feel the scratches when I run my fingers over the surface. I never cook anything with a bone in it, but I use a lot of freshly ground black pepper and silicone utensils. The non-stick quality of the pan does not seem diminished in the least.

It cleans easily. But will the non-stick finish hold up?
UPDATE: I've had this pan for just over a year now. It still works great. I only use it for scrambled eggs. And I've never used anything higher than medium heat. Also, I only wash it by hand. This product replaces a French made T-Fal non-stick skillet that I purchased over twenty years ago. The T-Fal eventually started sticking, and so this is the replacement I selected. This pan is heavy, and it appears to be well made. The non-stick surface is very slick, and it cleans easily. But will the non-stick finish hold up? We'll see. I'll do an update on the performance of this pan after I've had it for a while. However, I will tell you that I always take special care of my non-stick cookware. How so? I don't use metal utensils. I don't heat the cookware higher than medium heat. And I never put anything non-stick in an automatic dishwasher (I discovered many years ago that the dishwasher will eventually ruin non-stick finishes). One of the reasons that I selected this particular pan, is because it doesn't have any rivets on the interior. After all, what's the point of having a non-stick pan, if you have to scrub food off the rivets? I also like the fact that this pan is made in the USA.Complaints? Well, there is something that I'd like to address about this "Professional" Pan. On the packaging, or at Tramontina's website, you see many statements that lead you believe this pan was made for commercial or professional use. In fact, Tramontina makes the following claims:1. Tramontina's Professional cookware is designed and manufactured to withstand the rigors of a professional kitchen.2. Tramontina Professional is a collection of items designed and crafted to optimize performance in both restaurant and gourmet kitchens.3. Design, material, finishes, and fixtures are carefully selected to provide exceptional durability to match the expectations of professional chefs.4. Commercial-grade, heavy-gauge aluminum.Yet despite all of these claims regarding commercial and professional use, Tramontina's warranty for this pan says the following: Does not cover use in commercial establishments. What? In other words, if you use this commercial and professional pan in a restaurant kitchen, the warranty is void. That doesn't sound very "commercial", does it?
