The only thing that kills buckthorn
Triclopyr is expensive no matter whose name is on the bottle, but this is the only thing that reliably kills buckthorn. Use 4% triclopyr in diesel fuel, spray it on the buckthorn lower bark being sure to get it all way around, and three weeks later that buckthorn is dead.
