At first it needs some breaking in but afterwards it moves pretty well. I used it for about two weeks just about ten minutes each day and then one of the handles fell off while I was doing a trick. A small ring part got stuck at the back of my bed and I had to crawl in and get it which took me a few minutes. So here's a note to yourself - don't do tricks when you know that the balisong is going to break apart. Overall the balisong is great and you should buy a specific screwdriver to tighten the loose screws or locktite it which I heard from many but never tried it myself. This practice balisong is a really good choice and I bought the metal silver practice butterfly balisong too which is just as great but a little better in design.

Works well. Only problem would be the clasp at the bottom is only snug at certain pressure, and can come undone by itself. Not annoying, but a slight problem i've found.

I definitely should have taken the advice of others on here and taken the screws out and used some locktite or something.. Everything was all fine and good until one of the screws decided to fly out and disappear..Pros:-Wont lose a finger playing with it-Pretty cheap-Has a nice balanced weight.Cons:-Screws start off way too tight-Screws gradually loosen-Screws fall out mid swing and vanish across the room

You really only have three choices when it comes to practicing new moves with a butterfly knife: Use a practice balisong, find a balisong with a really dull blade, or use a normal balisong and keep a bunch of band-aids nearby. This one took a little bit of tweaking to loosen up, but it serves its purpose of providing a safe way to learn new ways of manipulating a butterfly knife. Let's face it; butterfly knives are cool. I work in a profession where everybody has/needs a knife, and they all have either spring-assisted or push-button opening knives. When I whip out my balisong, it always brings out smiles on everyone's face.

when i got the trainer i was super excited. after about 15 minutes of flipping it around it falls a part in my hands. the screws came out and came loose. i then put it back together and tightened the screws, but it fell apart again. i would not recommend this to anyone, and should definetley get a different practice balisong.

I bought this for my son, he was fascinated with my butterfly knife and wanted to learn tricks with it. I didn't want him cutting off all his fingers so I bought him this. I honestly thought it would be junk but it is very high quality.He used this to learn all types of knife tricks. It is weighted like a real knife and you will not cut off all your fingers or accidentally stab the cat.

I was happy to get this a day early then expected. I started flipping the night I received it. It worked great that night and I really enjoyed it. The next day it broke.... one of the screws seems like it doesn't fit I guess? The safety handle's bottom screw fell out and the two sides are separated. I'm really disappointed about this.... I tried using some tape to keep the screw in place, but it's no use.

Really solid construction. NO blade play at all. Little handle play. I was really pleasantly surprised at the build quality. It flips really well and I have been doing ariels and other tricks. It has a really good weight to it. Much better then the CCC (cheap Chinese copy) I have been using. Now one reason it gets a 4 is the safety latch does not properly fit on the bite handle so it does not stay locked in a closed position but hey, it's a trainer so you do not really need it as much. And the second reason was it was INCREDIBLY stiff. I could open the handle and stick it out and it would remain half open and not be impacted by gravity. Which is important during flipping. But this was solved after breaking it in by basic flips for half a day and I also sprayed some gun/lubricating oil all over the screws and that fixed the issue.Overall I would highly recommend this to anyone who wants to get into Bali but does not want to slice their fingers on their first try. Awesome product at a great price!
