I would definitely rate this WIDE belt over any more narrow one. More comfortable for the senior, or the disabled.Has 5 handles , which give the ability to use front, side, or rear lifting assistance.Requires a few times of practice. The first times will be making you wonder if such a device actually is worth the cost. But once you get the procedure down ( see You Tube videos of "Gait Belt Use"), you will appreciate the help it gives.

It works well but it's a bit tight, I can't remember if sizes were available, I don't think they were, but if you're on the bigger side this might not be for you. It does have a good amount of gripping handles.

The belt has been a tremendous help for taking my disabled wife on short walks. She tires easily and has balance issues. I can use the handles to guide and support her. Although it hasn't been a problem in actual use yet, I gave this 3 stars because the plastic buckle is not very secure. I can make it pop open with a moderate tug on the straps. Does not instill confidence that it will stay connected if she takes a tumble.

This belt is great and helped me lift my father in and out of bed.But I really think if some of the handles were all the way around would even be better.

After total knee replacement surgery, I could not get off my sofa which is low & pillowey and I needed help, which was not easy for me or my helpers ( and I swear they were going to crack my ribs by the way they grabbed me!). I put this on around my waist (didn't put pressure on my ribs) & my helpers (i.e. family members) lifted me from the side pulls & I was up before I knew it... Smooth & Easy and I was on my feet! A definite must!

I bought for a patient of mine and according to patient it is a lot more comfortable than normal gait belt . The padding helps patient with comfort , the handle helps nurses and caregivers to hold onto patient to transfer by the handles and makes it a much easier transfer . The handles give that extra safety peace of mind .

Much better than the standard belts that she was able to take off. Handy straps in a few locations on the belt to make picking her up easier as well. Highly recommend.

I bought this for a senior that falls at home. They are about 110 pounds. I put around their waist. Very easy just wrap and velcro sticks great. It has handles on the side. Put a chair next to them and lift from behind and get them seated on a folding chair. Basically its a 2-3 second lift.
