Michaela is shocked when she finds out a publicist has announced my upcoming wedding to one of the most powerful men in the country. She had never even met the man.She is furious and ends up in Phoenix’s office accusing him of being in cahoots with her evil stepmother. Phoenix tells her that her father is on the verge of bankruptcy, he has taken over her legacy the Hotel they own. She is furious and doesn’t believe him and dashes out to confront her father. Her father tells her stepmother that her stepmother is having an affair. He is bankrupt and signed a contract with Phoenix that he have a fake marriage for a year and he will give him back the hotel. Turns out her father put the announcement in the paper as he wanted things to move quickly. They go ahead with the marriage and struggle to convince people that it isn’t fake. Phoenix’s father had a heart attack and made him interim CEO. There is loads more to the story and there are a few shock reveals, wow. Its worth the read for that alone, but knocked a star off due to there being too much steamy going on and in the end I started skipping pages just to get to the story.

Loved the intrigue and coercion in this book. A happy ending is always my favourite and I also loved when the bad guys got their comeuppance in grand fashion

A good read with a short woman who takes no prisoners. My kind of woman. A man who’s used to having his own way but not this time.

I really like all the series of these men. The only thing stopping me giving five stars is that all of them cut from the climax of the action to a few days later or a month later etc, completely disrupting the flow of the book. All the suspense built through the story is just stopped and it’s a HEA. Even one more chapter to continue in the situation whether it escalates or is resolved before cutting to a time jump would make these books amazing.

Dirty politics, an arranged marriage contract, nefarious business intrigue, hate/loathing, rye humour and sex on a stick - it's all here! Not just your bog standard love story - this one keeps you guessing the outcome! Loved this. Highly recommended. 🌋💥💗😍. Thanks SA!

If you like your Billionaire's hot and dirty, then you will love Phoenix, the dirtiest yet swoonest Mogul so far in the series and also my favourite couple. 😜 There is doubt that the chemistry between Phoenix and Michaela could melt the biggest iceberg in the world, but the storyline is pretty terrific too which makes it just a heart-stoppingly brilliant read. Scarlett Avery has included a great suspense element to Phoenix as well.When Michaela finds out she has to marry Phoenix she goes to his office like a raging bull, but from the moment she swings open the door and steps inside Phoenix's world things will never be the same again. Phoenix wasn't expecting Michaela to have claws, but she is fast becoming his little 'kitty cat' and he loves to get her all hot and bothered. Michaela didn't know what she expected when she barged into his Phoenix's office but for some reason, she is starting to like the predicament she is finding herself in!

Another great book from Scarlett Avery, love the characters the chemistry the main characters had was of the chart, loved Mikki her feisty character. Definitely worth a read 4 1/2 ⭐️
