Bandai #127 Shining Gundam 1/144 High Grade Future Century

From the viewpoint of someone who isn't a hardcore 'connoisseur' of models or an expert builder, this was a pleasant experience building this model. The instructions were well written and structurally great. No painting was required; but, it did need a few tools that are not present in the box. Model clippers is all you really need for this, but a file (various grades) is recommended to make the edges smoother. Also some fine tweezers for those super tiny stickers.As for when its built, this is a highly flexible model. I personally set it in a high kick and had no issues with balancing. Its pretty fantastic for the price.

I am fully satisfied with the quality and price of this model kit plus the fact that it came packaged neatly and securely really shows that the company it comes from takes pride in their products. Now since this is my first model build I personally can’t compare its quality to other model kits however I like the quality of the pieces and I’m excited to build more kits after this one.

Arrived on time and a great model for someone getting back into gunplas

Not a bad kit at all. Overall build and material quality is good. However, the gripes I have with it are the parts on the side of the legs that serve as covers for the thrusters, and that it requires lots of ink/paint, more so than other HGUC line (even though this isn't Universal Century, it's still part of the HGUC line). Those aforementioned thruster covers, when the gundam is converted to hyper mode, are not on any kind of hinge or anything. The design on the inside of them is designed to simply balance on parts of the leg rather than being directly attached, by poly-cap or some other method. This causes them to be highly insecure, and just slightly tapping them will cause them to fall off. Also, the blue part on these covers is one big sticker, a huge downside, even for a high grade that already has a lot of other blue parts. Another gripe I have is a rather minor one considering that this is just a high grade. That is that there is a lot of inking or painting required to make it look near accurate colors. The gold on the inside of the shoulders is all part of the red parts so it requires either paint or the stickers it comes with. Also, the inside of the forearm guards is molded in grey instead of gold, as are the leg thrusters. For a kit with multiple gold parts, it would have been nice to at least get yellow parts for these if not gold parts, rather than having to paint red and grey parts. Despite these problems, this kit was still enjoyable to build and detail, do recommend for any fan of the series.

I love this model. G Gundam is one of my favorite Gundam anime growing up, and I just adore this set. The Shining Gundam is full of accessories from alternate hands, beam sabers, the shining finger effect parts, and the best accessory the shining finger sword. If you love Shining Gundam or the G Gundam anime, you'll definitely love this model kit.

Arrived three days ahead of schedule. Was pleasantly surprised. The large shining finger hand doesn't fit on very well, would require some tack material to stick. Otherwise looks and poses great.

Got for my husband as his first gundum and he loves it. No English in the instructions but easy enough to understand. Good value.

Nice kit but as a heads up I have WARN you that if you don't have time to paint or if you don't like to paint at all then this kit might not be for you cause it doesn't look exactly like what you've seen from the anime... Parts that you must paint are the gold boosters/ thrusters on the forearms and the legs... Other wise most of the details can be covered by stickers.. Now if you set the anime aside, the figure itself is OK . The sculpts and details are nice.. The articulation is descent for a close combat gundam and the accessories are enough to let you re-animate some scenes from the Anime it came from like the shining finger sword, shining finger, battle mode and even the super mode! So if you're a G Gundam fan or just a gunpla fan then you might wanna try this kit cause it will definitely give you a nostalgic feeling ( if you watched it on its 1994 release ) and the build is fun too...
