Works great
I found a well buried 20" deep in a driveway, no one knew were it was other than someplace in the driveway. We were able to pin point the location in about 20 minutes just going on the sound. This device worked great and as advertised!

If you're looking for metal below the surface of the ground............this does it!We use it for finding steel handles on concrete septic covers.We're locating most metals an average of 12" to 48" below the surface of the ground.

Found the property line!
I purchased this for a very specific purpose, locating my property markers. I decided to go this route after using a metal detector, measuring stakes, and digging many holes. The price was far less than having a surveyor come out. Within minutes I had successfully located the iron stake in question. Prior to using, I did experiment with different metals to learn the differences in tone.

Good for surveying
I’m a land surveyor and this is the metal detector I use. It’s one of the cheaper ones, but I find it to be just as effective as the other brands and it’s actually more ergonomic to hold. I had one and used it all the time for about 9 years and it stopped working, so I bought another one. We tend to put our equipment through quite a bit of abuse due to the nature of the job, so 9 years is pretty good for $500.

Did Not Last 8 Months UPDATE
Worked fine until yesterday. Turned it on and it just emits a shrill tone like it would if its tip was touching a piece of metal. Tried several different types of batteries and that did not cure the problem. Same volume no matter how the volume or sensitivity is set. Guess it is toast. Guess I will see how their warranty holds up.UPDATECompany did provide a replacement for the defective unit. But same problem has started on the replacement now. The locations of buried iron rods it provides are just not accurate. I really tried to baby this one and take care of it but I have to say that they just do not seem to be well made. Maybe it's cheap parts. I don't know. I'm going to trade this one in on a Schoenstatd

We have 2 of these guys and they work great. Built strong enough to bounce around a service truck year after year. I highly recommend this product .
