Helps make my writing legible
I have had essential tremors for a few years which has caused my writing to be illegible (even to myself). While this is not a miracle, I can write slowly and steady my right hand with a left finger to make my writing much more readable. Ordered refills and they last a long time. This pen is very useful and well engineered. Thanks for such a good product.

This Pen Is PERFECT!!!!!
Pure Perfection!!! I love this pen and very highly recommend it!! While I don't have tremors, I have very bad carpal tunnel plus arthritis (sigh #IAmOldNow, LOL!). Anyhoo, I purchased two different types of pens from Amazon that have that fat base and shape. One was too light weight and didn't help at all. But this Thixotropic pen is amazing! It has a solid, heavy base, which helps guide the pen. I don't have to press hard to write, which helps me write for longer without pain.Even if you don't suffer with hand/arm pain, this is a great pen so I recommend it for everyone. If you have older parents, this would be a great gift for them. Easier to see, use and handle.

The letters look better but my aim is off
I got these because hypermobility and an essential tremor have left my handwriting illegible and writing is quite painful. My neurologist suggested a large diameter, heavier pen is easier to write with. These came in a sturdy, white box containing 2 pens. The pens are big enough that they are easy to hold but I find it hard to predict where my writing will end up because the barrel is so big. When writing a check for example, I keep missing the intended line by a few millimeters. This is a learning curve that over time, I’m sure I will adapt to however, my husband had another pen that is much smaller but still bigger than the average pen, and I’ve been enjoying that pen for now. Unfortunately, it was a gift with purchase so I can’t repurchase it when it runs out of ink. In the meantime, I’m practicing with this Thixotropic pen.The Thixotropic pen is also much heavier than average pens. I do think that the weight helps but I’m not 100% sure yet.

Only one working pen
So this is a really nice pen and I like how it feels in my hand but only one of the two pens is functional. The other one arrived pulled apart and missing the spring to make it retract. It is still a nice pen and will work for my needs but I will probably purchase directly from Thixotropic and not through Amazon in the future.Amazon choked on the one of two damaged problem. I would have to return both and then they could replace both. (And probably resell this set to someone else who then has the same problem) I have a working pen, it just cost me $20 instead of the $10 I had expected. Like I said I won't use Amazon for ordering things like this again.

Fantastic pen for Parkinson’s
This pen really helps writing when you have tremors. The size makes it easy to hold and the weight helps keep the pen steady. The company has great customer service. If you have a family member with Parkinson’s this is the pen to get.

Impossible to use as shipped
Barrel is attractive but the pen is impossible to use as shipped. The filler is too short for the barrel and only protrudes from the tip enough to write with the pen vertical instead of slanted. It wobbles inside the barrel. The filler provided is a cheap ballpoint that only writes intermittently and with force. The filler is replaceable but I have not found one that fits the barrel.

Hefty, but fragile and rattle-y
Nice things first.Nice form; I like the chunkiness and the weight. This pen might (maybe) help my shaky writing be a bit less shaky. Jury is still out on that. Also, the package shipped and arrived quickly. So there's that.(The lanyard, however, is a silly idea. Who wants a baton of a fat pen swinging around, banging on their chest, rattling? I removed my lanyards.)Although this pen seems like a good idea, it suffers from bad design. The heft comes from a thick steel tube just sitting loose inside the large inside-diameter plastic pen barrel. No issue with the refill fitting through the middle of the steel tube, but the tube is not affixed to anything, so rattles annoyingly and strongly when pen is moved. Of the pair of pens I received, I fixed the one that actually worked by attaching self-stick velcro loop around the steel tube to allow it to better fill the space between the steel weight and the inside of the barrel. Plus a teeny bit of velcro loop on the bottom of the weight, so it wouldn't rattle longways, either. The second pen, when first clicked to expose the pen tip, would not allow the pen tip to retract from its fully extended length. Then, because I have prior experience with click-type pens having this issue, I tapped the tip sharply on the desk, which usually causes the tip to retract slightly to its still-out-and-ready-for-writing mode. It finally retracted all the way into the barrel. On subsequent attempts to get it to stick in writing mode, it would not; it just retracted all the way. I unscrewed the barrel and found the base of the plastic barrel (into which the top part threads) was broken, making it impossible to tighten the two barrel pieces securely. Plastic is too thin and fragile.Low cost is one thing; shoddy inadequacy in materials and engineering is another. These pens display the latter.

Very nice pens
I love these pens. The grip and weight is perfect for help with my hands that tremor sometimes so bad it’s hard to hold anything there’s are great. Unfortunately one cam with a broken spring, I did contact the company a week ago and was told they would make it right. I still have one pen that works great! The owner sent me a new set of pens and let me say I still love them and they help my writing so much. Can’t praise the pens enough!
