A great piece of kit and a bargain at this price
I use a multi tool for odd jobs in and around a warehouse so didnt need something fancy.Cost did factor a lot in this purchase as I dont want to pay a lot of money for something I could possibly lose at work so I opted for the Swiss Eagle in black. When it arrived I could not believe the quality of it and It is great looking too to the point I am extremely happy with the tool 100%Its never going to be a top of the pile multi tool from a certain brand but then it isnt trying to be.Purists will say its garbage and a waste of money but for me this is fantastic and amazing value for money. It is really well built and should last well if looked after.Spot on AMAZING VALUE with QUALITY BUILD

Some of the blades need a bit of work but the quality’s good
I got mine the next day from ordering it does need a bit of work sharpening a few of the blades but for the money it’s well worth it 👍

Flimsy fake
"This knife is an absolute disgrace. I purchased it expecting a functional tool, but it didn't even last a week. The quality is shockingly poor – flimsy, weak, and utterly useless. It's clear this is a cheap imitation, and frankly, it shouldn't be sold on Amazon. This is a complete waste of money and a serious disappointment. Do not buy. This should by no means be sold as a Swiss knife, as it has nothing to do with Swiss quality."

Advantages and Disadvantages Compared to Victorinox Champ
I bought this because I have lost/had stolen two Swiss Army Champs over the years and wanted something to carry with me that wouldn't be such a hit on finances if the same happened again. The real deal I'll keep at home.On initial impressions, the advantages of the Swiss Eagle are:It's as cheap as chips compared with Victorinox - watch out for offers; It comes in a snazzy presentation box (slightly too small for the contents); It comes with a (cheap) case with a belt loop;Slimmer than the Champ;Magnifier has a metal rather than plastic frame.Disadvantages:Doesn't have the honed metal feel of the Champ; It lacks the Champ's biro;Several tools are smaller than the Champ's, such as the toothpick, the tweezers and the magnifier; The magnifier is useless for reading and is presumably provided for setting things on fire; The blades are noticeably less sharp than the Champ's;The springs on the pliers and scissors - a weak point on the Champ - are worse here; Some tools are difficult to get out.Durability will probably be an issue, thanks to the quality of the steel. The bottom line, though, is that if the price of the Champ is too steep, its intended user is too young for anything really sharp, or if the Victorinox quality is not necessary for (say) casual or occasional use, you can hardly go wrong with the price of the Eagle. There is, by the way, an even cheaper version of the Champ available from a Chinese supplier whose name begins with W, which you would be well advised to avoid.

Review
Can not complain for the price, it does what it’s meant to do but does not feel the same quality wise as my Swiss army version and it’s a little frustrating that opening some of the utilities can be difficult due to stiffness, meaning I have to open other sections to get the one I want open. The spring sections of the scissors and wrench easily become miss aligned but functionality wise it ticks all the boxes and whilst not as sharp as my other brands, this does arrive sharp enough. Bit too bulky to carry without knowing it but as a multi tool for this price, can not fault it. Like anything you get what you pay for and if you don’t like any of the stiffness or spring comments and money is no object, then get the Swiss army version. If you want to save the money and still have the functionality, this one’s for you.

This was a bargain.
For some reason this black SAK is much cheaper than the red or the wooden ones but is of exactly the same design - & this came with a small screwdriver in the corkscrew which I didn’t get with the wooden one I gave to my son. While not Quite up to Victorinox standards it is superior to most copycats that you come across. There is no undue play & blades are sharp where they need to be. I always kept my red one in my locker at work & it came in handy on several occasions when other tools were not available. Now I’m retired it mostly sits in a drawer but ,like most owners of this type of gadget, I still like to just tinker with it now & again. Devices like this are fascinating to fiddle around with & it amazes me how anything so complex can be so affordable. You can customise them with filework or etching & they make a great talking point if you display them on a mantle/bookshelf. Even at twice this price it is still value for money & I believe many folks would be delighted to own one.
