Don't waste your $$Hardware broke after 10 months of very light use, you get a pretty seat but lasting is a problem......pass it up

The product itself is well made and I trust will stand the test of time...as the cheaper plastic one I had that was less than 2 years old broke off at the lid and could have caused the person using it serious injury. I am hopeful that this one with an alloy hinge will be safer.The installation video however, was not real helpful, as it does not take you through the process of installation slowly...I mean the entire video is less than 1 minute...if even that! Not helpful for a woman like me doing the installation!We'll see in time if the extra expense in getting a toilet seat of this quality (made with real bamboo & alloy (metal) hinge) was worth the additional money!! It's got to be better than the one I purchased at the "big box" store!

First, this fits my new Kohler toilet perfectly. The color is darker, richer than the pictures led me to believe, and my wife and I like that as it fits in with our other bathroom woods. It was quite easy to install, especially after watching the short video; I really appreciated the wee, plastic wrench which came in the parts bag. I like the ability to extend the front reach of the seat a bit. The finish is just fine; there is a bit of irregularity to the wood along the rim, but no big deal. The slow lowering feature of the hinges works as described. The darned thing is pretty comfortable on my bum, too. Yes, I would highly recommend this toilet seat.

On paper , this seat has it all.Bamboo, soft close, even has a quick release for quick cleaning. In reality, it's a lawsuit waiting to happen. If you have one of these I would immediately switch it out. If you're planning on buying one, look elsewhere.The quick release feature comes loose with the slightest movement allowing the seat to slide off while you're still on it. Don't even raise a leg to get a good wipe.In or else the hinge will detach and send you tumbling. If you plan on using it, you have to evenly, distribute your weight and go straight up and straight down. Any sideways movement will end in a trip totnhe emergency room. I wish I could return this but.At the end of the day I threw away all the packaging thinking I had found the perfect seat and with it the OEM seat. So i'm stuck until I can get one that doesn't have a qucknrrlease feature that will end in tragedy

The wooden parts of this seat are nicely made and attractively finished but the hinges are poorly designed. Because there is an offset between the pins that allow removing the seat and the bolts that go through the mounting holes in the toilet just a little sideways pressure on the seat causes the hinges to rotate in their holes, shifting the whole seat sideways. After having to straighten the seat almost every day, I eventually gave up and replaced it with one that doesn't have the removal feature.

Very well made bamboo wood. Problem is the fastener. It is a 2 piece system versus the normal one screw down type. The toilet seat top keeps popping out from bottom fastener because of the lateral movement of the seat. Have had this a few months now and have had to reposition the seat a couple times already. Frustrating because you have to get down underneath the toilet to loosen the nut to do the repositioning.

It goes well with my vanity cabinets. It matches the wood very nicely. The hinges on the seat are beautiful! Easy to clean. I plan to get another one for the other bathroom in the house. I think it adds to the property values. I highly recommend this to anyone wanting to upgrade the style in their house bathrooms. What a difference it makes!
