Significant voltage drop across cable with 2amp load
These cables seem very thick, but that's likely mostly insulation. As there is significant voltage drop across cable at rated current.I tested using a 5.17v supply, on the high side of USB standard. I connected this cable from the supply to a 2 amp dummy load. With testers on both sides, I was able to see the voltage difference present in the cable. Applying the 2 amp load brought the voltage from 5.13v to 4.3v, below the lower limit of USB specifications. Some power supplies will have cable compensation circuits, which may improve the voltage stability, but that's not guaranteed.I wish they used thicker gauge wire in this. Maybe the 3ft long version will work better.

Works great for audio/phone and USB charging
Every now and then you think you're gambling a little buying something, and are then pleasantly surprised when the product arrives and is better than you hoped for. This product is very well made. Only exception is the plastic piece you would use to mount it under a dashboard or to a desk. That part seemed a little fragile to me for something that would have stuff plugged/unplugged multiple times, but it wasn't an issue for my installation because I mounted it in the hole the cigarette lighter used to occupy. If you have the room, double nut the part that goes through the dashboard or use some semi-permanent thread locker that works with plastic. The cables are nice and thick, and sufficient strain relief at both ends. The USB connectors are robust and were properly aligned, so cable insertion is easy. Would highly recommend, and would buy again.

Not working, tried 3 USB memory sticks
The cable is at least 6 feet long, and that's too long. Long cables result in resistance and at some point the voltage and / or current drops off so much that the USB device doesn't get enough power anymore and doesn't even come on. Consequently you can't access files on USB memory sticks. This is first semester electronics, but yet again there is zero proper product design and testing with this BS made in China. So tired of this crap!

Garbage
I bought this and a USB 3.x hub to charge devices.I set it all up and:1) Windows doesn't detect anything that's plugged in. I get an error message. But hey, as strange as that is, I mainly bought this for power.2) I plug my phone in. My phone says "Charging Slowly". This is the first time my phone has EVER given me that.3) OK maybe it's the hub. I buy a dedicated USB power outlet. I plug everything in, "Charging Slowly"Garbage.

Didn't work with new stereo.
Bought this to hook up to the back of a new car stereo. With the cables connected, Android Auto would load for a few seconds then it would go away and the radio would say nothing was connected to usb1. Disconnected this and used single USB extension provided with the stereo and haven't had a second of problems since.
