As good as original, because it is.
Pentair Globrites are notorious for failures and are expensive to replace. I have 5 lights and three of them failed in one year, only one within Warrantly. Pentair seriously needs a redesign. This was a better price than most, and it worked fine. DIY is pretty easy if you watch a youtube video or two, and saves a repair gut trip. I took the suggestion from one video I watched and added silicone sealer to a couple strategic locations on the unit. We shall see if it makes it last longer or not.

Believe the Reviews
Horrible light. Cracks down the side and lets water in. So far in 5 years, 4 out of 4 went bad. Pricey light for bad results.

Perfect!
Received this from Amazon Warehouse at a huge discount. It may have been opened and inspected by someone, but it had never been used or installed in a pool. The wire was still coiled and secured in the original factory wrap. So happy my pool light is operating normally again!

Poor design
Inheritly a poorly designed and constructed product. They leak water inside shorting the LED lights out. This time I sealed all edges and seams and where the wire enters the back of the unit with clear silicone chaulk. Hopefully after my fix will make it a “5 star” rating.

Utter Trash
Read through the reviews and believe them. Look at other sites and read those reviews, believe them. These lights are trash. Pentair has to know about it and they do nothing. My pool was built in 2014 and I have replaced or need to replace every mechanical device from the build. The pump control unit, the sand filter, the heater, and all four of these globrite lights. When I replace anything from here on out, the new product will not have Pentair on the cover. So, about these lights. First, as far as function goes, they're pretty awesome. I assume that's why they do get some reviews. When they all work, my pool looks amazing at night. The problem is, they don't work long. Our first one went out 4 years after the pool was built. The following year the other 3 went out. I replaced them all 4 years ago. Before I closed the pool last year I notices one was out. This week when I opened the pool I found that it is, of course, dead and it appears a second one is going out as well. It at least appears to be in death throws.Last time I searched all over the internet and was able to find the lights for around $250. That same dealer has increased their price to $350. Still cheaper than what Pentair sells them for, but about $325 more than they are worth. For those of you keeping score at home... that means I have already replaced all four of my light once at a cost of around a thousand dollars. 4 years later I need to replace 2 more at a cost of at least $700.As far as the warranty goes, well they are of course outside of it. Pentair has a known design flaw (look it up on youtube, it's no mystery), so why would they warrant these for more than a year? It doesn't matter for me though, because I installed them myself and if you do that, the warranty is voided. I didn't mind, because the warranty wasn't very long anyway. The lights are already excruciatingly overpriced, I was not going to pay someone double to install them for a one year warranty. Not to mention, when they were originally installed, a professional installed them and they didn't last any longer. You know why they didn't last any longer when a pro put them in? Because the installation isn't the problem, it's the product. The lens and the body of the light are a 2 piece construction. Water invariably gets into the housing and does what water does. There's a youtube video that shows you how to put silicone on the housing during install. I was hoping I'd get some extra life out of them by doing this, but no luck. Here's the best part. They use a proprietary niche. That's the hole they go into on the side of the pool No other manufacturer's light will go into the niche and the only way to change the niche is to bust up the concrete on the top to get to the outside wall of the pool.I'm stuck with replacing $1500 worth of lights every 3-4 years if I want lights.Anyway, heed the warning, or buy this garbage at your own wallet's peril. They are utter trash. Pentair has to know it, they just obviously don't care.

Pool Builder and I use these exclusively
We have tried a number of lights and install these lights primarily. Cords come in 50, 100, and 150 feet. We always use a junction box so the pull through the conduit is short for future replacement. Pretty light with great colors. I highly recommend the color selector. While it is 250 plus, it is super nice. By 3 and get a 3 year warranty (or 3 pieces of equipment) Not that the other brands do not have nice products, but so far great results. Don't forget the transformer on conversions and new builds. Also need a light niche. We like the fiberglass niche...better looking.

DO NOT buy this brand of pool light
I had high hopes for these led pool lights, but I’ve replaced five of these lights in four years.

MADE TO BREAK DOWN
These lights are made with the direct knowledge that they’ll break down. I’ve had mine installed for approximately three years with about 4 hours of total run time (if that). Today, one has already failed and second one is showing signs of going out. Read the HORRIBLE reviews, these things cost an arm and break down almost immediately with water entering housing being a huge factor 🤦♂️. Unfortunately Im stuck with no real other options due to their size.
