Plugging cables into both sides, with both cables known to work for USB data transfer and power, this connector seems to interfere somehow. No data or power gets through.The size is good, seems to be water proof, but no actual USB connectivity.

This is a FEMALE to FEMALE connector - I expected it would be male to female. I had to order a special male to male cable to connect to the computer.Also, the panel thickness could be greater. It can handle, at the most, a 1/4" panel thickness.The attachment of the cover cap to the nut is unusual. It will hang from wherever the nut stops and can't be moved like to the top or the bottom.

After installing a Motorola Radio into an emergency vehicle I needed to find a solution to allow the radio to be programmed without removing the radio from the console. Drilled a hole in the side of the console then attached the back of the USB programming cable to the plug...worked perfect and saves time.

I bought this to use as a bulkhead fitting to charge usb devices. When plugged into power it does not charge. No power it detected when using a multimeter. Dont buy.

Seems to be well made and works well. The only criticisms are the cap tether looks like it won't hold up and it is only rated for 1.5 amps instead of 2.1 amps. The hole size for this is around 7/8" instead of 1 1/8" like the other panel mount sockets I'm using.
