Ice cream cozy
This mystery takes place at and around an ice cream shop in a small town in Connecticut. There is an Art festival at an old mansion that happens to be a castle. There is a murder in a locked dungeon. Riley investigates when things don't add up. There is also burglary in the area. The actual perpetrator of the crime was not who I thought it was.

Murder and Ice Cream in Connecticut
This is definitely an interesting mystery. I love the setting, the ice cream, the kitties! This time the murder takes place in a locked room in a castle, which was definitely intriguing but I have to say I was a little uncomfortable with some of the things Riley pulled, really not too smart things for a smart lady, some of these things were also on the edge of unethical and that bothered me. I really hope the author pulls back from that edge because I really liked Riley more in the first book.

Great Addition to the Series
We really enjoyed the first book in the series, and we were looking forward to the second. Meri Allen didn't disappoint us! An enjoyable plot, complicated enough to keep us hooked until the end, but not confusing. She is a master at providing enough clues to lead us down the wrong path, but she pulls everything together in a logical manner at the end. We're looking forward to book #3.

Enjoyable Read!
I thoroughly enjoyed the great details that Meri Allen described in depiction of the characters, the settings and especially the plot! I wanted to read more. The series was wonderful even though I read the last book first! All we're great reads!

Lots of conversation
The book had a good story line but there was so much rehashing of what we already knew in new conversations. And there was no mention of mint chocolate chip ice cream.đ¤

A delicious murder mystery!
A delicious addition to the Ice Cream Shop Mystery! I love revisiting Udderly Delicious, but you donât need to have read Rocky Road to Ruin to enjoy a visit to Penniman, a picturesque Connecticut town sprinkled with great characters. The extra twists as you dig into the murder mystery are the cherry on top!

Ice cream, a castle and a princess
Mint Chocolate Murder is the 2nd Ice Cream Shop Mystery. This one involves an art festival, a castle, and lots of pumpkin spice ice cream. Not that anyone should be murdered but the more you learn about Adam, the deceased, the less you like him. There is a large cast of characters. I found myself asking âwho is that again?â even 3/4 through the story. Main people - Riley, Caroline, Jack, Prentiss, Maude, Willow, Luca, Tony, Adam and VYE - I remembered. It was just all the extras that didnât really seem to be playing a huge role in the mystery that I had to pull myself out of story flow to remember. I think thatâs what makes it 3 stars for me.I did wonder why itâs called Mint Chocolate Murder when that flavor of ice cream wasnât mentioned as far as I remember.Sprinkles, the cat, was the topic of conversation and present on the page way more than I cared to read. This cozy series involves a romance with the police detective, but itâs Jack with Caroline rather than Riley, the main sleuth. There are detailed descriptions of the castle. Rileyâs former profession as librarian and secretly as CIA asset is mentioned several times. I think Riley uses it as her license to investigate. There are some smaller mysteries in the book that I donât think I even caught until Riley resolves them toward the end.A positive for this second book is that it didnât leave me feeling down like the first one did.Itâs a well crafted mystery. I didnât catch on until near the end who was responsible for Adamâs death.I enjoyed reading the book. Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for the opportunity to review this book.
