It is indeed a golden, attractive journal
The media could not be loaded. The covers are mostly coloured red with mottled colours varying to dark burgundy. The central decoration, as well as the embellishments on each corner is slightly more raised and very pleasantly tactile. The gold effect is very striking and well done. Something you can't see very well from the previews provided is the holographic effect around the borders of both covers and the central motif; it easily seen and is an additional feature that makes the design sparkle in any light or angle. The décor on the spine is relatively subtle but none the less elegant and also has some holographic effects. I've bought about four of the Paperblanks journals as gifts for friends to journal over this period. For me, the Golden Trefoil and the Landau Gospels are the most ornate and attractive; although unfortunately the Lindau arrived damaged, this one was pristine. I would have given it five stars except I wish it had 240 pages instead of only 144. Such a lovely design I think my friend would like to write in it for a long time. They are long lasting. I bought a midi version of the Lindau over a decade ago and although it was many years before I started writing in it, I still have it now and it has held up very well
