Highly recommend buying this if your current batter is not holding a charge more than an hour or 2, or less.About a year ago I had to replace a frayed charging cable, of which the after market ones of course are annoyingly shorter, for my 2-3 year old HP laptop. At the time the battery life was already noticeably dropping off. Over the last month it got down to under an hour of battery life before needing to be plugged in.It used to be so easy to swap out batteries you could buy a second to swap out without needing to be near a power outlet. Now you have to undo about 10 screws. MAKE SURE TO UNDO THE DVR SCREW FIRST AND SLIDE IT OUT, then in HP’s infinite wisdom they put 3 screws under the rubber skid strips on the bottom of the case so you have to scrape those off to get to the screws. Once the back of the case is removed (hopefully you don’t crack the thin case parts of the back of the unit) it is very easy to remove the old battery and pop in the new battery. I gave a rather high 3 stars more because of HP’s poor design access to get TO the battery but it was not the makers of this batteries fault. After getting everything back on (minus continuing issues with getting the rubber skid strips to stay on even after using thin craft 2 sided tape which is what it looked like HP used) the battery had an 80% charge out of the box which was impressive. It lasts around 3-4 hours again which is about what I was getting before with the original battery.The do recommend running the battery totally down then recharging so the computer can properly gauge percentages of life which I did. I also ran a report log before I swapped out the battery and afterwards, you can Google the procedure, and it was a noticeable difference.I was debating just replacing the laptop since I can’t move it to Windows 11 and in IT I should have Windows 11 to help guide users though it but if I can get another 2 years out of the device the $30-40 I spent were worth it.

I was able to install this myself with help from youtube. It is a great replacement for the money. It is still to new to speak to the longevity but my other battery was so bad I could not remove the power source at all. It's great to be able to move my laptop again so I am pleased.

That battery didn't even last a month. Don't bother with this product.CORRECTION: I tried again to use the laptop today after having left it plugged in for several days. It worked and showed 100% charge. I unplugged it and it did not shut down as it did the previous time. (it had also been plugged in for a long time) This is the second battery I have bought for this laptop in less than two years. The last one did not last six months. For now it seems to hold the charge. In addition, I want to achnowledge that the seller offered to reimburse me for the battery, which would have been fair but is still nice.So I have changed my rating to 4 stars, as the charge level goes down faster than an original battery, but is still reasonably reliable.

I do not recommend this seller. I purchased this battery on 5/13 and installed it today, 6/29, however, it does not work and now I'm being told that my return window has closed. First of all, the battery arrived without any protective material over the battery inside the box - almost like it was a return that was repackaged as new. Then after installation, it did not work at all. This was actually the second battery I purchased from this company - the first battery (which did have protective material over the battery inside the box) lasted just 7 months but I thought I'd done something wrong, so I gave this company another chance. No more, will find another seller.
