100% real truffle flavor even though it's not 100% truffles
After buying a cheaper truffle product that started with the letter S that's mainly carob powder I was thoroughly disappointed and wanted a product that was just natural truffle flavor with artificial flavoring. I had been hesitant because of the price, but in the end I finally broke down and bought it. With that said I'm very glad I did and now it's on my regular shopping list while I put it on top of everything I can. When you look inside the jar you can tell it's clearly mostly dried truffle shavings as the ingredients list and eating a small pinch is just a wonderful truffle flavor that's not overpowering nor is it influenced by anything else except maybe the salt. In all honesty though it's not as noticable on food as I'd like it to be, but that might be due to eating so much truffle as I don't even really notice the truffle taste in the whole truffles in a jar preserved with vinegar water or something I get from whole foods even when I eat them on their own as slices. That also is probably the issue with eating truffles that aren't extremely fresh as well as ones that are likely produced in truffle farms rather then wild hunted truffles, which yes technically both are hunted, but farmed ones come from trees that had been planted with truffle spores/mycelium or whatever so that it would become an area that produces truffles vs in the wild where they just happened to naturally develop in that matter. Anyways back to the truffle dust... It's excellent and imma keep buying it so don't be mad if it's not available all the time 😉

Great product
Its It's legit. Great truffle flavor. There's a bit of salt but it doesn't overpower. Great balance!

A tasty seasoning
Great for elevating simple pasta and butter, but for me it really shines on fresh salmon. I put some with my normal salt and pepper on a fillet of salmon and sauteed it in butter...best fish I ever had.

Very potent and YUMMY!
Just what I was looking for! Great on everything. I'm sensitive to garlic and onion and this is my alternative. It does feel like it makes me sleepy though.

Never buying truffle oil again
Wow wow wow! Big truffle fan, obviously not going to keep fresh stuff at home at all times and not everything that could be truffle flavor needs extra oil (eg drippy pizza)I just made some of the best mashed potatoes I've ever made with this stuff!

Mushroom flavor yes, truffle flavor not so much.
Honestly, I can NOT say it tasted very much of truffles. To me it tasted like ordinary mushrooms; not like truffle mushrooms. It does have a lovely and full aroma. It does taste very good and makes a really nice tasting and fragrant mushroom addition to whatever I put it in, including sauces, soups, salads and goat cheeses. I tried soaking it with water for 15 minutes, an hour, a few hours, and then tried soaking in water overnight. Overnight soaking fully reconstituted the mushroom flakes to plump little bits, however soaking it did not change the flavor from that of ordinary mushrooms, and did not result in any increased truffle flavor. It would be really nice if it came with no salt, and would be best if it had no other ingredient except the truffle flakes. Since it didn't really taste like truffles to me, I personally don't feel compelled to spend $29.95 again, unless they try getting rid of the salt and chantrelle mushroom content and have the content consist soley of 100% truffles.Still, it bears worth mentioning that I selected this item after days of searching for a way to buy truffles online and it was the closest thing I could find - other than paying literally hundreds of dollars shipping cost to have fresh truffles shipped on ice from Europe.

salty
I sprinkle this on French fries, omelettes, and pasta to get a truffle taste. It delivers, although the truffle flavor could be more pronounced. My complaint is that it is very salty, and for me, salt overpowers, not enhances, the truffle taste.
