A few months ago I broke a sesamoid bone in my right foot. It has stayed sore. Then a few weeks ago, I broke the big toe on my left foot, with a turf toe type of injury. I hate wearing a boot mostly because of the difference in height from one foot to the other. This causes knee pain and other issues. I bought these for all these reasons, and they are performing even better than I expected. The pain from both injuries have really improved. They are comfortable, light, durable, and I wish I had found them sooner. They are stiff, as they need to be, but do allow some flexing, but my toe does not get bent in the joint. They are thin, and comfortable in my shoes. High quality, and I would definitely buy them again.Update: These carbon fiber shoe inserts have been a game changer for my recovery. I have a broken sesamoid bone, and the inserts provide excellent support and protection. They've helped reduce pain significantly and allow me to walk more comfortably. Highly recommend for anyone dealing with forefoot injuries.

I got these particular insoles based on the recommendation of my podiatrist. I have flat feet and now being in my 70s, I have been experiencing some pain and swelling after a lot of walking, hiking and when backpacking. Upon opening the package, I was surprised with how rigid the insoles are and my first thought was that they would be uncomfortable. Quite the contrary, I've had them now for a few days and have already noticed a significant difference when walking and being on my feet all day doing things like yard work. The pain I had been experiencing just a short time ago is basically gone and my feet feel a lot less stressed afterwards. The instructions received with them are clear and simple - remove the inserts in your shoes, place the insoles inside (they can be flipped over to fit left or right shoes) and then place the inserts back in. They are lightweight carbon fiber, so they add virtually no weight to the shoe. I thought that with the additional insole, my foot might be cramped inside the shoes, but that was not the case. I am a (Men's) size 10 and they fit perfectly in my walking shoes, hiking boots and yard work boots. I am very satisfied with both the quality and performance of the insoles in addressing the problems I have been having with my feet.

I ordered a pair of inserts to match my shoe size, however the actual inserts are about a 1/2" shorter than expected. They do not slide around in the shoe (to my knowledge) but despite being super thin, they offer a nice firmness to the shoe and help protect my arthritic does from overbending. There is a definite difference when using these.

I'm dealing with a moderately bad case of turf toe, but I was desperate not to be stuck in a walking boot in the middle of a hot summer. These insoles are amazing -- especially if you're using shoes with a rocker sole. Absolutely no pain, as much relief as a walking boot with none of the awkwardness. I ordered the 9.5 for my size 9.5 running shoes and they fit perfectly under the orthotic insert. I just ordered a size 8 for my regular street shoes, too. Excellent product, excellent value, a real lifesaver.

I’m really looking forward to using this insert for my shoes especially since I’m leaving on a trip soon that will involve a lot of walking and sightseeing. This way I won’t have to wear an orthopedic boot all the time. It’s amazing how thin and stiff at the same time these carbon fiber shoe inserts are. They will help me with my healing as my doctor recommended I not let my foot be able to bend and wants my shoes inflexible.Since I’ve been wearing a boot, I’m expecting these inserts to be easier to adapt to.What a revelation in stability and value!

Read if you have this condition and are wondering if this insole is right for you: I bought these because it said in description “The Rigid Shoe Inserts reduce the pressure between the metatarsal joints and toes and help reduce foot pain and foot recovery” I have average feet and in my case the insert actually increased the pressure on this region. I had hoped that by being rigid it would somehow spread the load, but in my case it did not. With my existing shoe without a carbon insole the pressure of my weight was taken mostly by my big toe, but as I walked the load would spread into the 2nd metatarsal region as I flexed my foot and pain ensued. I had hoped that by stopping the flexing across the width of the ball of my foot with the carbon insole it would protect the 2nd metatarsal area from flexing. In fact what is did was spread the load evenly and due to the rigidity it did not give my toes the ability to slightly adjust to ease the pain, and instead caused me to feel the pain more of the time, rather than less. Upon trying this style of insert and researching it more I now realize that the foot mechanics and its interaction with the shoe/insole are complex and very individual to the issues one has. Some more specific insoles for 2nd metatarsal protection are not rigid at all, offering pads for their claim to relieve pressure in that region. However I’ll now go to a podiatrist for advice rather than Dr Google. Good luck!

I have three pairs of these inserts. They are lightweight, very thin and inflexible and take up almost no space in my shoe. This is important because I wear custom orthotics that extend the length of my shoe. These inserts really stabilize my feet because I have pain in multiple places due to arthritis and tendonitis. My bro-in-law used them to stabilize his foot after a stress fracture. I have a pair in my hiking boots, my slip-ons and even my slippers. I recommend them to anyone whose feet demand a rigid foot bed. This is a quality product and it delivers.
