Best shock mount I have ever owned!
I have owned literally 100s of shock mounts over the 35 years I've been in the recording business, and this is hands down the best I have ever owned! Seriously, it doesn't matter what I throw at it, as long as the mic is not too wide. There is a Blue in the picture but I have a custom U87 that I will only put in this mount b/c the original deteriorated over time, and I won't put that $7,000.00 mic in just any old mount! Seriously a great product.

Great shock mount
I wish it came with extra pop filters (I broke mine) or that the pop filters were available as a separate item, but the mount is inexpensive enough that I just bought a second. The mount is a bargain. It works on a huge number of microphones. It does not contain any elastic that has to be replaced every two or three years.

Problem Solved
Can stand all of the elastic bands that make up most shock mount mic holders. This unit holds my condenser mic perfectly without all of the drama. Do your homework. Make sure it will fit what you have.

Surprisingly good value
I have not used this brand before, but I tested a mic using three different shock mounts. I do not have a Rycote to compare it to, but of the three shock mounts, this one - in general - did the best job of minimizing unwanted transmissions. Each shock mount had its ability to limit the transmission of specific frequencies to the mic, however, overall this one performed best.

mic suspension = stiff cheap plastic
Bought this mic basket because 1 - I'm cheap, 2 - tired of replacing dry, cracked rubber/silicone suspension rings/bands and 3 - just a home recording hobbyist. If I ran any kind of semi pro studio... I'd definitely fork over the $70+ for the real deal name brand "RyCooter" shock mount. When I lightly tap on the outer part of this shock mount... the mic DEFINITELY picks it up. The imitation suspension is just hard plastic. One can feel the plastic seam along the edges of what should be softer, rubber type material that actually isolates the mic from vibration.

PLASTIC!!
Bought this looking for a universal shock mount for a WA-87 R1 that I got from a pawn shop with the original shock mount. Only purchased this because the description says the material is metal….

You get what you pay for
This will work for the time being but I would not rate it as a quality product. There are four screws which need to be tightened against the microphone body. At the end of each screw is a very hard piece of plastic which could potentially scratch or damage the mic body. I added rubber pads to the plastic ends to protect the mic.It definitely takes considerably longer to put a microphone into this mount that it does to any of the other mounts that I own.
