Got this hunter item for my home sprinkler system, old one was damaged and this new one is working perfectly fine

Lightening knocked out my original Controller so ordered this as a replacement. It came with everything I needed to install and get operational. Took about an hr to install and reprogram. Works just as good as the original so far, and I now have it connected to a surge protector...

All the numbers and text are displayed on the display. On my old Hunter controller, the numbers and text on the display didn't align with the numbers and text on the front panel. You weren't sure if you had it programmed right without repeating the steps 2 or 3 times. This is the main reason why I replaced my old Hunter controller. The Hunter X-CORE has 3 features my old controller didn't have. It has a reverse button as well as a forward button. It has a seasonal adjustment feature. Instead of readjusting all the run times, you can raise or lower all the run times by a percentage, with one adjustment. It has a solar sync feature. It will automatically adjust the watering schedule based on climate conditions. The reason I gave the X-CORE 3 stars, is because Hunter made the wiring compartment smaller. It will take a little more patience and planning, on how you will dress the wires. I didn't cut my wires. It's better to have a longer wire than a short wire. I would recommend the Hunter X-CORE.

Replaces an original 12 year old unit perfectly. Easy to install.

This worked perfectly for a replacement. My old unit had sparked and burned up part of the control panel! The wiring was super easy, but the actual connections were a bit of a challenge because there was not much room to make the wire connections to the screws. Overall, the total replacement time took maybe twenty minutes - the hardest part was removing the old system! I love the options for additional senors, and that it is a much slimmer design than my old one.DIY Tips:1. Take a photo of your pre-existing wire set up.2. If you cannot figure out a wiring element due to symbols/codes looking different, you can search this device and Hunter has a wiring guide.

The old Hunter failed after 25 years and this Controller is a direct replacement for the previous.
