Expensive, but soooo worth it !!!
I paid full price for this item, therefore my review is based on my experience using the item as an ACTUAL PAYING CUSTOMER. This item is one of those things that I did not know existed, but saw the value in what it could do the moment I saw it. I was very hesitant to purchase this because of the price, but finally gave in! Well, first off, like another reviewer said, the item is heavy. The handle is solid two-inch bar. It is not hollow!! It does indeed weigh about 25 pounds. When I buy things for my home gym, I like to buy equipment that will last my entire life. After handling and using this item for a couple of days, I am fully convinced it could survive a nuclear blast, and will be around one hundred years from now. This item will be of most use to those who know how to use it and what its intended purpose is. Anyone who has ever done wrist curls to build forearms has undoubtedly had the problem of the bar slipping down in their palms as they reach the high point of the movement. The thicker 2" grip on this makes it MUCH easier to grip and control. Also, the center of weight is out in front of the bar, rather than pushing directly down on the palms. This means the weight will be consistent throughout the entire arc of the movement, and offers a much better burn. I see this item allowing me to actually work forearms as an important part of my arm routine, rather than an afterthought. It also gives me a much better burn than reeling in a handle with a rope and weight attached. A specialty item like this will probably be discontinued pretty quickly, so if you want to get one, the time would be now, despite the price. This would work fine for upright rows too.Room for improvement: Every item, no matter how good it is, can be improved. First off, the spring clamp that came packaged with the item went straight in the garbage the second I opened the package. This is not a knock against the item, but I have never had a spring clamp that I liked, regardless of the manufacturer. Slapped one of those PVC clamps on and it works perfect. Another thing that might be improved would be knurling that is a little deeper. Perhaps the item is still new and covered with a light oil, but feels a touch on the smooth side.TLDR: Awesome piece of equipment, simple, practical, and heavy duty. BUY IT!!! Your forearms will thank you.

Awesome!!
This is a solid, well built piece of equipment. It has become my favorite implement for doing wrist and reverse wrist curls. The piece by itself is very heavy and I only need a 5 lb. plate to feel the effects. My suggestion is to use 2 olympic collars to secure the weight plate at the very end of the sleeve, to make it more difficult. Doing wrist and reverse wrist curls on a consistent basis helps keep elbow pain away. Thanks for a solid product...I will get a lot of use out of this.

A unique tool for Popeye-like forearms!
This equipment is a BEAST - a solid 2" bar that both looks intimidating and cool. It essentially allows one to get more out of wrist curls and extensions by placing the focal point of the weight used slightly in front of one's hand, thereby making those exercises more challenging - including the final flexed portion where the resistance would otherwise be the least in a traditional set up with a dumbbell or barbell. In this way, this equipment works on the same basic principle as a lever curl bar does for the biceps, except that this is designed for the forearms. Also, the thickness of the handle taxes one's grip, thereby adding another layer to the pump you'll get from using this equipment. The knurling feels just about right also - not too aggressive but also not merely a decorative etching. As others have noted, the clip that comes with the device is cumbersome and I replaced it with a better collar. But I won't knock the equipment for that, which is why I'm still giving it a 5 star rating. I'm looking forward to using this equipment to train my forearms at the end of every "arm day."

Should cost a lot more.
Best $40 I ever spent. I agree with the guy who said it will survive a nuclear blast. I could use it as a boat anchor. It allows me to isolate forearms alone, front and back. Awesome. This is not some cheap POS, this is the real deal. Worth every penny.

Would have been so much better if made hollowed out to lighten the weight
Bar is too heavy. Think it should be lighter allowing user to use more weight. Also think the bar is just a tad too thick with the weight of the bar making it more difficult to handle. Would have been so much better if made hollowed out to lighten the weight. When using this it does the job for working the forearms but unless your really strong this isn't the best piece for the average person to train with. I'm a strong weight lifter and just the bar alone is about the start weight for the palms facing inward lift not allowing but 5 to 10 lbs added at max weight. When doing the other grip with palms facing out it's easier to add weight going to about 5 to 15 lbs. I bought this for my gym for clients but really would recommend a forearm hammer bar instead of this one. They're way more versatile when using and able to do more weight.

OMG! someone is missing a differential in their Honda Civic!
don't let the price fool you. this is a very stout solid piece of metal. I'm a big guy at 6' 230 lbs and I'm starting off with no weight added. advice: don't try to use the spring collar it comes with. you might hurt yourself. get an pair of lock-jaw barbell collars ( or one of the knock offs ).
