Excellent torch
Fits in hand, four brightnesses, a good product

Fantastic little torch.
Bought this for my mum as I have the bigger Newton 750 and was impressed with it. She really likes this Newton 500, very bright for such a small size and I'm a big fan of it just taking AAA batteries. Means I can replace them with Ni-MH's without issue.The four modes are great, though I question the strobe mode's usefulness in any scenario but one where you need to alert people to your presence, e.g. to be rescued. I'm a big fan of the focusable beam.i would say buy the Newton 750 over this as it's not much more, but it's discontinued now. So the 500 lumen version gets my recommendation, especially if you want something pretty small but still bright and that takes regular batteries.

Slight, bright and light light
It’s light, it’s compact, it helps assuage my fears by lighting my way in the dark. As it’s LED I imagine the battery life should be pretty good but I haven’t tested it because I try not to linger on poorly lit footpaths if I can help it. It also has a beam zoom feature that helps focus the beam over a longer distance, which is useful in proving that that thing you think you saw lurking in the shadowy undergrowth is definitely not a goblin. It’s also safer than a naked flame for reading horror novels under the duvet late at night.

Impressive
This little torch feels like quality in the hand. The strength of the beam in floodlight mode is excellent.The magnetic base will come in handy.It is well worth the money and comes complete with batteries too so ready to go. Not sure what the battery life will be like so can't comment or rate it on that.

Annoying like Chinese products
The media could not be loaded. BAD :1. Brightness too weak to see numbers on the houses from distance of the street.2. Two hand operation to change between zone and spot.3. Button not easy to press as bit too deep inside.4. THE WORSE - it cycles modes like China cheap5. Not sure if my eyes or product but I don’t see difference between high and medium.6. Magnet strong enough to hold on bare metal otherwise falling offGOOD :1. Lightweight
