Stays on, numbers easy to see
I have American Bresse chickens. I wanted to be able to select for temperament and forage ability with my parent flock. I really only need the numbers to be visible while I am considering which chickens to keep, about 10 weeks after installing. There are 10 bands for each color so I am able to use other colors for birds I add to my flock later on.So far, ~6 weeks later, all the numbers are vibrant and easy to read. I don't like it being 3 digits though. There are enough colors that I am able to mark birds I like vs those I am considering. I like that I can snap on and off the bands so I can use it on more than 1 bird.I put them on when they were 6 weeks old and they have all stayed on, ~6 weeks so far. I did have an issue with one of the smaller 6 week old chicks kicking it off a day after installing but stayed on after that. I love the snap on design.

Works for Quail
I purchased these bands a year ago to mark my Coturnix Quail - worked great. I waited for my quail to reach sexual maturity so that I could easily distinguish males from the females and later on between the two males for rooster selection. First time putting the band on a wiggling bird took a couple of tries. After that, it was a pretty easy system (pull band apart, place bird on back in left hand, use right hand to push band on bird leg, press band sides together to close with right hand - I'm right handed). The birds are coming up on a year. My birds live outside in an aviary type ground enclosure - none of the bands have fallen off or broken even through Virginia winter. Quail have slim little legs. I recommend waiting to put the bands on the birds until they're about 6 weeks so that the birds toes are big enough to prevent the band from slipping off. I took off one star from this review for color options - I wish the bands came in more colors so that I can also distinguish between the birds for hatching/age.

8mm Rings Fits Sexually Mature Jumbo Quail
One of the best and worst things about Amazon are the product views. They can give you buyer's paralysis (analysis paralysis) when the bad reviews so completely contradict the seller's description and/or verified purchasers' positive reviews, even those supported with photos or videos.I decided to take a leap of faith--backed by Amazon's Prime Free Return--and purchased these rings for my JMF Jumbo Brown Coturnix quail. I'm happy I did!HATCH BATCH #1 (16 Weeks Old):Hens: 320gm, 330gm, 374gm, 379gm, and 415gmRoosters: 298gm and 324gmHATCH BATCH #2 (6 Weeks Old):Hens: 247gm, 254gm, 282gm, and 323gmRoosters: 206gm, 244gm, 253gm, 262gm, and 285gmThe 8mm rings fit ALL of the above hens and roosters at the above listed weights taken today, March 26, 2022.They were easy to apply and securely snap. Just place the quail on its back in your lap and stroke its breast until its calm and relax. I'm new to raising quail, but it only took one person (myself) to do it and my quail DO NOT like to be handled, yet I was able to both weigh and then tag them in less than 3 minutes each.I would definitely buy these again, and highly recommend them for sexually mature (6+ weeks old) jumbo coturnix quail.

Some fall off
I would say right now we’re at about a 10% fail rate. Meaning that 10% of them fall off of the chickens legs.

Easy to put on, and they stay on
Easy to put on, I have the best luck using a pair of needle nose pliers. I have only lost a very few of them, I use them to track year of birth a different color each year. Color stays true some have been on 3 years, still just ad bright

Don’t stay on Long
Purchased 2 years ago as a means to keep tract of which hen was which year for egg production/culling purposes. Most leg bands have already fallen of the hens. Looking for a metal band brand now to replace this cheap ones.
