Allen Sports Deluxe Quick Install 4-Bike Hitch Rack, Model 1540RR , Black

I got tired of taking my front wheel off and cramming my hybrid bike in the back of my SUV to transport it, so I finally paid UHaul to put a hitch on my car and started looking for bike racks. This one was the cheapest I came across, which made me nervous, but after shelling out $250 for the hitch I wanted to conserve my money. I LOVE this carrier! Takes seconds to attach it to the car, a minute to lift the bike onto it and fasten the straps. I add a bungee to keep the wheels from banging around, and this holds the bike rock solid. I take the rack off the hitch and store it in the back of my car while I'm riding to prevent theft - SOOO easy to attach and remove!

This is a great product. It is very easy to install and uninstall. I have been using it to transport 4 bikes (3 adult bikes and a kids bike) and everything fits really well and is secure. It does take effort to load and unload the bikes but that is true of most of these hitches.I highly recommend this hitch.

Very happy with Allen bike rack. Easy to set up; seems pretty sturdy.

I bought the deluxe quick install version and we managed to fix it without any difficulty. It performed as expected while carrying a couple of bikes as well. But now when I am trying to get it off, it just wont come off. The locking mechanism seems to be jammed and it wont budge. This is not a singular incident, apparently you will find lot of folks having the same trouble. Just do a search and you'll see.

It’s a good rack but the screw that you lock into the hitch stripped after one season so now my husband has to rig it in order to hold it in place in the hitch

Bent and dented my trunk very badly. Now the trunk won't stay open and leaks.

Super easy to install… user friendly

Have been using for weeks and am very pleased. Easy to install in hitch very sturdy, no rattles to this point. We put on two adult bikes, one a fat bike, and a kids bike and could get the fourth on without issue. Highly recommended!

Very easy to install. Quick install feature should be the must for all hitch bike racks. Connection to hitch port is pretty sturdy and does not wobble. It wobbles a bit at the point where 2 bolts connect the upper portion of the rack. Already traveled with 4 bikes over 200km. Nothing fell, nothing broke or bent. Overall seems to be a good bike rack for this money. With Thule rack it would probably be a bit quicker to install bikes, but not sure if $400 dollars difference would be worth it. From the second attempt it took me about 10 min to load all 4 bikes. Hopefully rack will perform well in the long term.

Better than expected. Very little wobbling even with 4 full-sized bikes. Well built, no rusting so far.

Nice and solid. Took me about 15min to install. Carried our bikes to the park to give it a try today. So far so good!

Work as described. Reason for three stars: the holes for the pin were misaligned. I had to use a reamer to drill the hole bigger in order to get the pin through.
