Beautiful colors with great coverage. I'm not currently staining a deck; I had a small woodworking project and these sample sizes were a great deal when compared with buying even a small amount of a single color. They went on easily, dried quickly, cleaned up in a snap and I was very happy with the result. If I ever am staining a deck, this is the brand I would be likely to use.

Even though the purpose of this project is to test the stains for larger products, it's the perfect amount for small woodworking or laser cut projects. I even saw that someone was using it on dollhouse furniture. You can see all 5 of the provided colors used on the cat image I've attached. This is way more cost-effective and less wasteful than buying larger packages of stain at a home improvement store.The stain came packaged very well. If I ever need to buy more for a larger outdoor home improvement project, I will remember how fast and efficient this company was with their samples.Side note - if they come out with a selection of more modern grays, I will definitely purchase another sample kit.

Supposedly there were 5 colors, but only 3 come

I bought this sample pack along with the woodrich cleaning sample pack. I cleaned a scrap pressure treated 2x6 with the EFC-38 and Citralic per the enclosed directions and stained 4 sections of the wood. It was initially just going to be for me so I wasn't very clean about the lines or the labels.I noticed the warm honey gold and brown sugar look pretty different in the bottles, but once applied, the brown sugar is only VERY slightly darker than the warm honey gold. The amaretto and western cedar colors were pretty similar also with the amaretto being a red-brown and the western cedar being mostly red.The oil didn't seem to penetrate like I thought it would even after cleaning and letting the wood dry for 2 days after cleaning. I also don't see much water heading after I applied it. I almost wonder if I got the wrong product.I also couldn't figure out how to get the $15 off that was stated in the product description.I had high hopes for this stain, but I wanted more of a medium brown and brown sugar is too light while amaretto is too red.The cleaners seemed to do a good job tho. Especially the Citralic brightener.

great for doll house uses

This is perfect if you aren't staining something large. A sample set is the perfect amount if you are staining small fairy/barbie/doll furniture.

this size is just right for small craft projects, however, some of the colors are very close in shade. I ended up mixing until I got colors I wanted. Good to keep around for staining small pieces of wood.
