Quiet and nice aluminum top.
This is a replacement for an old one that lived many years before crapping out.I always like one big fan, for quiet movement of more air. This is very quiet, and the speed is adjustable. At full speed it is not too fast, so I leave it there.I like the aluminum top, much nicer than the usual plastic.I use the extra USB port in the back to power my phone charger, to keep it off the computer. It's harder to find smaller ones like this for smaller dimension laptops.

Use it for my router, works great
I have a high end wifi6e gaming router and it's 8 core CPU and other chips get really hot. Some routers or this level have built in fans but mine relies on passive cooling which basically means heatsinks.I noticed that as heat rose performance got worse so I needed a way to keep it cooler. I started with what looked like regular PC case fans but they were in little enclosures and powered by USB or an AC adapter. They worked but they made too much noise. Then I had an idea... A laptop cooler with a single large fan. Large fans can move more air at lower speeds which means less noise. This thing keeps my router nice and cool, it's silent and powered by one of the router's USB ports and now I'm getting the full performance of my duplexed gigabit connection (2 gigabits via 2 Ethernet cables, each a Gigabit connection that gets turned into one 2 gigabit connection by the router)I can't say how this would work for a laptop but as long as it has vents on the bottom for airflow then it should help.It definitely helped me and I'm going to buy a similar sized fan and make a custom cooler for my modem. I can't use one of these because the modem is smaller and a oddly shaped by it also gets extremely warm.Perhaps I'll buy another of these and customize it.Either way this was worth every penny and I went through multiple different fans and types of fans until I finally got this.

Quiet and works well
The first cooling pad I received didn't work. The second one works very well. It is so quiet, I have to put my hand and ear next to it to know if it is on. It keeps my laptop cool - my laptop no longer makes noises like it did before when it got too hot. I like that it is big enough to hold my large laptop and that it has ventilating holes throughout instead of only some sections like some of the other cooling pads I saw online. When I put it on my lap flat, the laptop does not burn my lap like it did before when I didn't have the cooling pad. I like that I can tilt it at a wide angle on my desk when I use it next to my second monitor. The only thing I would prefer is if the on/off switch was on the side instead of in back of the cooling pad and if it came in all white so it would blend in with my all white desk setup. Otherwise, it is a good product and fits my needs.

Great little cooler
I bought this knowing that this product had only one review but I decided to roll the dice. I bought both the silver and black versions, and I am actually very pleased with them. They are quiet for a laptop cooler due to the single fan design and low RPM of the fan even at max. This also means they have pretty mild airflow but it should be good enough for an ultrabook or notebook to stay cool. I used one of the coolers for my modem and router, and it works like a charm. The packaging has Chinese writing all over it and I really wouldn't be surprised if everything electrical is as cheap as possible though. The faceplate is metal and seems to help dissipate the heat from devices. Honestly, this is a great little cooler that is worth the $28.

Eh....
It does what I needed it to do, namely hold a laptop off my lap and help keep the temps down. My computer isn't anything particularly special or high powered, but it would get warm just on my lap. So I bought this. Mine didn't come with any kind of usb cable, and while it claims to have two ports, from what I can tell I need a double male cord to plug into one for the fan power, which really means there's only one usable port. So no gain, but no loss really. But as I said, I need a double male usb cord, which while available, isn't exactly common. So i just don't use the fan function. Can't really comment on what the materials are, but its sturdy enough for what it is. Dock it two stars for the usb issues and the lack of cable included and it's a decent lap desk for not that much money.

quiet ext laptop fan
At first I was going to return this because I thought it was not running fast enough, but used it a few days and it’s plenty fast, it’s quiet and seems to moves a pretty high volume of air, it is surging the purpose as intended.

Very Poorly Madr
This is a super cheap laptop cooling stand, and I returned it within less than a week due to the fan starting to rattle. I had high hopes for this due to the reviews, but it virtually pushes no air, is smaller than advertised, and is very poorly made

It works!
The media could not be loaded. I left the dB reader on in an otherwise silent office with some traffic background noise. It's noticeable, but not to the point of disruption to me or my officemates. It's a white noise, no worse than your typical hvac system. Definitely keeps my laptop cool! It was turning off twice a day to overheating, even propped up on a few sticky note pads. It hasn't shut down since I started using it, and I do not expect it to. I think just the large aluminum plate the laptop sits on will be enough for a heat sink for less-hot devices. I'll update if anything changes, but for now, I recommend!
