This is an excellent product if used correctly, but expensive!
I was the County Maintenance Superintendent and we had a huge horse barn metal building used for the County Fair and riding events. The pigeons filled all the gas heaters with nesting materials= fire hazard, and they would tear into the plastic covered insulation to nest..... not to mention what was left behind every night after settling in nicely for themselves:-) What a mess....that never ends!! Ugh! Our maintenance time was eating into our budget, and the risks to fire and health were awful. Small birds are bad enough, but the pigeons and larger ones were just tooooo much.I selected and bought the predecessor to this very unit: this one has many more valuable options that make it cover a much wider selection of situations. It took 2 days to train them to stay out, that's all. They would swoop in the open bay doors when they opened, sit for about 30 seconds someplace they liked, then suddenly get what I called then, -Very nervous and agitated type behaviour.- and out they would go. End of nesting, roosting, and multiple flying poopers over people's heads. (As the old jokes go, Aren't you glad cows can't fly? (If left on at night, there are usually no more bat roosting problems either.)Yes, it is a bit way over priced. But, if you have a large area to cover, and need to fix the problem once and for all..... this is the fix. Take a big area, then buy six smaller units to do what this one does and you will probably pay more in the end anyway. Just a thought.NOTE: You do need to plan this and install it correctly to give good coverages. One unit did our entire area of 150 ft X 350 feet X 30 feet at peak tall metal building. You need to be willing and able to carefully install the wire runs to the speakers, and you need to place them wisely to give good loud unblocked sound coverage to all areas. All wiring is low voltage and does NOT require a licensed electrician to install. You need to read the book carefully to learn what works well with what, and to know how to vary the sound levels by season or need.Do it right, and if your problem is bad enough, it is worth every penny paid..... if you do less, it does not mean the unit is junk, it just is not done right.Be aware that on the highest sound pressure levels, you do slightly hear a small "twittering" type of noise now and then. For example: when I placed the unit on low at first, you heard nothing, but on low, the fully home located birds tended to not move out quickly enough to suit me. So placed on the highest levels, when there was very little other ambient noise, then I noticed a small intermittent twitter in the background. To all present, it was barely noticeable, not an issue, and it was never a problem to larger animals during the fair either!! It can be set for intermittent sound, or continuous sound. Easy to adjust, easy to set up, and easy to make effective if used right. Enjoy!..... if you can afford the best.

Installed on our company billboard... Weak results
This is a very expensive product. Make no mistake; it is very loud and irritating. We have a billboard that is infested with pigeons. The system was installed at great expense. The birds flutter away every time the audio option comes on, but fly right back down once it shuts up. I don't see any discernable results from the ultrasonic component. The product has reduced bird numbers by maybe 15% to 25%. Perhaps over time it will irritate nesting populations enough to drive the majority off, but that is yet to be seen. Bottom line, this is no quick fix, it is noisy, and far from fool proof. I think the claims made of this product in its description are exaggerated.

Bird-X really knows their stuff and has great customer support!
I cannot say enough good things about Bird-X equipment and customer support. Our stucco building had been destroyed by Flickers and Grackles for several years, which cost us many thousands of dollars to repair. Tom at Bird-X walked us through the entire installation and programming process of our BB-Pro to deal with our specific problem and he really knows his stuff when it comes to bird deterrence. Thank you Bird-X and Tom!
