My favorite snack!
One of the best finds of all time! Randomly stole these out of my dad's pantry a few years ago and now finish a bag a month. Packed full of food nutrients this satiating snack has a great taste and texture profile.

Delicious and Nutritious
Barùkas nuts (occasionally referred to as baru nuts in Brazil) grow in the savanna ecoregion of Brazil known as the “Cerrado”. They are incredible due to their very powerful nutrients and great taste when roasted; a delicious mix between peanuts and cashews. Baru nuts are very high in protein with 24% of their weight being highly digestible protein, and they contain essential fatty-acids and antioxidants. They have fewer calories and fat than other traditional nuts and are also very rich in fiber, vitamin E, magnesium, potassium and zinc. They are a nutrient gold mine!

Very addictive! Better than chocolate:)
Coming from a nut country, our childhood past snacking on different nuts like almonds, pistachios, walnuts, hazelnuts…. We tasted baru nuts very recently and quickly addicted to its taste. Its taste is in between peanuts, coffee and chocolate. If you like these 3, I bet you will love baru nuts as well. And we have baru nuts from other sellers as well. But this one is the best. Freshest, more tasty and bigger nuts. Thank you Boranica Origins.

Rich, smoky flavor - very tasty
This was my first experience with Baru nuts. These nuts have a roasted, smoky and peanutty flavor that I found extremely pleasing. They have a "meaty" texture so they also feel filling. You get quite a bit of them for your dollar so I thought it was overall a pretty good value. A downside is that the outer shell tends to come loose and so with each handful you will get several "empty" shell casings that are a mild nuisance but not hard to separate them out and toss 'em. I found the shells of these nuts very easily find their way between my teeth so flossing is often needed after a couple handfuls. All in all, worth the money in my humble opinion.

A school project lead to a great purchase!
My daughter did a project for school on endangered species in Latin America and she learned about baru trees and how they benefit the ecosystem. Eco-farming methods help the land and the people. She encouraged me to find these nuts so we could try them. They are really good! Super healthy and delicious. They are less oily than other nuts and we just love them. Even though they are pricey, we will buy more because we like the nutty taste and we want to support the business and the farmers.

Looking for an alternative to peanuts??? THIS IS IT!
Unfortunately most nuts contain so many bad chemicals such as aflatoxins and oxalates. These nuts are very low in toxins compared with other nuts. These taste very similar to Spanish Peanuts. These and chestnuts are the only nuts low in oxalates. They are similar in size to peanuts, but slightly elongated. They are nutty, crunchy and have an essence of peanut. These could be substituded for peanuts.

Good product, fair price
The price, $29.95 for 1.5 lbs, seems fair to me.Baru nuts are an undiscovered delicious treasure. You eat the whole thing, though you can peel the dark skin off if you like.
