Very nice
Fits perfect right next to the ice bin in my freezer. I like to make homemade sorbets and ice cream and this makes it easier to layer ingredients. The shape also makes it easier to scoop than a regular Tupperware type bowl or container. By gliding your scoop from one end to the other you get that perfect ball of sorbet or ice cream for the cone or bowl. The bottom piece detaches from the inside colored piece for easy cleaning. Lid only fits facing one direction so if your lid doesn't fit try turning it the other way. Well insulated, keeps my frozen desserts frozen and helps prevent ice crystals. I love how the bottom of the container grips the countertop and doesn't slide around the counter while I scoop! These ice cream tubs don't take up very much room in the freezer either, allowing room for other items. You can also stack a few on top of each other. They do seem to be a bit pricey but they work good and are well made. Mine has been in use for almost two years, has never lived outside of the freezer, and still looks brand new!I bought the Raspberry Tart color,...very pretty!

Perfect Size For Most Ice Cream Makers
When I first received this long, 1.5 quart Tovolo ice cream tub, I was afraid that it was going to be too small for the contents of my Cuisinart ICE-100 machine. Not so. It's perfect. Although it looks small, it holds a full 1.5 quarts of ice cream made from about 4 cups of base. The container comes apart for easy cleaning and hand-washing (it's not dishwasher-safe). The insulated layer between the outside and the inner container helps keep the ice cream from melting as quickly when out of the freezer, and that's important when the long shape potentially exposes the greater surface area to ambient temperatures. I do stick mine in the freezer a few hours before I churn to give me some extra time when transferring the newly frozen ice cream into its container. The lid doesn't snap in place, although it does stay on. I love that I can run my KitchenAid scoop across the surface to create a nice ball of ice cream. The description says that it will fit into "any tightly-packed or freezer door" is, of course, ridiculous. It measures 11" long by 4" wide by 4.25" high. Side-by-side refrigerator/freezer combos don't generally have doors that big, and a packed freezer might not be able to be rearranged to accommodate the length. When I bought this Tovolo container, I also bought a Sumo one. The two tubs are identical, save for a different brand name on the top. Choose based on price and available desired color.-- Debbie Lee Wesselmann

Perfect for our homemade ice cream!
Ordered these based on other reviews and product information and was not disappointed! Perfect size for a batch of ice cream from our Cuisinart ice cream maker. Fits nicely in our freezer even though it doesn't have door pockets -neatly stacks with other items. Keeps ice cream super fresh with no freezer burn and makes it so easy to scoop! I think these are so awesome that it might be worth putting store bought ice cream into these instead of cardboard packaging!

Great Container, but the Lid Could Use Improvement
I recently purchased the Tovolo Ice Cream Containers for my homemade ice cream, and overall, I’m quite pleased with the product. The 2.5 qt size is perfect for storing my creations, and I love that the container is BPA-free, ensuring that my ice cream is safe to eat.The non-slip base is a fantastic feature—it makes it easy to scoop out the ice cream without the container sliding around on the counter. The glide-a-scoop design also makes serving a breeze. However, I did encounter one issue: the lid can be quite tricky and doesn’t stay on securely. I found myself struggling to get a good seal, which can be frustrating, especially when storing my ice cream in the freezer. It would be great if they could improve the lid design to ensure a tighter fit.In summary, while I really like the container itself and its overall functionality, the lid's performance is something that could be enhanced. If you’re okay with a bit of a lid struggle, this is a solid choice for homemade ice cream storage!

Amazing bowl and paddle for making homemade ice cream.
Made ice cream in this today. Amazed anyone buys store bought after doing this. Amazing and creamy chocolate ice cream. Key lime is next and then we will give a sugar free one a try. Worth it with prices today. Also recommend the ice cream tub for storage.

After debating over several similar items, I chose this. No regrets!
***EDITED, yet again! Yup, I dropped it again—and this time the red inner container cracked THROUGH—so now I can NOT use it because it will leak. It’s a good product but you can NOT drop it! Easier said than done and I’m really not a clutz lol!**EDIT: 3 weeks later: don’t drop it! I read about others who dropped it an it broke. I thought well duh don’t drop it. Well, I accidentally dropped it and...it broke! The plastic shattered in 2 places. Still usable but not perfect.** When you're quarantined, your priorities get shuffled. Homemade ice cream is now a MUST! So I wanted a good quality container to store it in. Had been using a round glass pyrex 1 quart bowl. Hard to scoop from that. THIS is great because you can take a long swipe and roll out a nice scoop. So the quality seems good so far. Hard to imagine it cracking like others have mentioned. Unless maybe you have a really sharp or pointed scoop? I had considered another company model which included a plastic scoop but I didn't need that. THE LID: people were making a big deal about the lid not snapping on. It does snap on. It's not quite the same or as tight as a tupperware-type seal, but it gets the job done. From other reviews, I expected to have problems with the lid, but no. One thing to note is that it goes one way and not the other. The lid has a lip on one end, which needs to matchup with the dip on the end of the container. Look closely to make sure you're putting it on the right way. My only sadness is that the "strawberry sorbet" color is more pink than red. Online it looks pretty basic firetruck red. In person, it's more tropical-pink. Enjoy your ice cream, folks!!
