Q: The copper pipe is stamped 3/4 but does not fit in the 3/4 hole stamped on the tool. What’s the problem??

There are standard and nominal sizes of pipe. Standard is exactly that. If you put a micrometer on it you would get a reading of exactly .75 or 3/4 inches. Now we go to refrigeration and plumbing specifications which are "nominal measurements". I've forgot exactly which way they differ but think one is measured 3/4 inside the pipe or tube and the other is measured 3/4 outside the pipe or tube. I know, confusing right? The flaring tool in question handles refrigeration and plumbing sizes. You will find most non plumbing refrigeration tubes and pipe don't fit that flaring block. Better check the flaring nuts, make sure they fit your copper

The tool does not have a ratchet. It has a feature to make consistent flares. The handle trips and disconnects when the flare is formed. You then turn it ccw to remove the flare. Hope this helps.

If you are talking about .065 wall 4130 chrome moly, it will not work. This is for Aluminum, and steel ( or Stainless Steel ) 3/16" brake line. The 1/4 through 1/2 inch is for copper or soft metals. You would snap off the wings of the twist part if you tried CM.
