does this model measure ppm's over 999? i only see three 000 on the display

instead of using this for a in line water connection, can i use this for a reservoir if i jus put the end in my reservoir???

..its seems like every time i try this unit in my resovoir im getting different reading..does it matter how fast the water flow is?any suggestion?

IS there an option for 3/8" quick-connect T-fitting? is it available?
