Slightly different but still works great
I have a Raynor Pilot garage gate. The torsion cable began to fray on one side and I purchased this as a replacement. It's a very inexpensive option compared to calling a repairman and you can find videos on YouTube detailing how you swap them out. For that reason I'll let you look for the demo on your own and just supplement the video(s) with my observations. Before starting, I used a marker to indicate where the axel of the last roller on the gate was normally positioned with the gate fully open. I didn't wear gloves because I was working in a tight space and I knew I was going to have to feel the cable fall into the channels on the spool. I removed the damaged cable and compared the the old damaged one with the new replacement. The new cable was maybe four inches shorter than the original, so to avoid complications I replaced both left and right cables. This item was sold as a pair so that was ideal. The lead anchor slug soldered to one end of the cable was different in design from the original (the original was more like a cube and the new one was more like a barrel shape. The barrel didn't seem to lock onto place as positively as the cube did. Kind of a given because the hole on the spool was designed for a cube shaped slug. Irregardless of the shape, the tension on the cord helps keep it locked in place. I did need to bend the cable a little to get it to turn in the right direction while threading it. I used an extra long needle nose plier to finally pull the slug through the anchor hole. Once I had wound the cable around the spool, because the new cable was shorter than the original, I rotated the spool by hand to get the extra length I needed to put the cable loop on the anchor peg on the gate. Rotating the spool was not that difficult. There wasn't a huge amount of resistance. I followed the same procedure on the other side and I was done. I disengaged the gate from the chain/latch and closed/opened the door manually a few times to make sure everything was working right. I reengaged the chain/latch and used the motor to open/close the door. So far so good. I've been using the gate normally for a few days now and all seems well. And the final good sign... despite the cables being a slightly different length, the gate stops exactly where it did when I began the process. All in all I'm very satisfied with these good, affordable replacement parts. If I had to, I would buy them again.

Updated review on large end loop problem
Update:The seller contacted and addressed my issue. This shows the commitment of the seller to stand behind their sale. It is possible that the problem has been an isolated one.Yet as a user, please make sure the end loop for your door offers a snug fit. If it's big, it will certainly snap out and the weight of the door on return can be unforgiving!Original review:The ring or end loop of the cable where it hangs to the garage door is very big. As a result, when the garage door goes up and the loop turns around, it snaps out. This is a very dangerous situation as the garage door gets disengaged when it's up, and then falls down with all that tremendous weight. This can kill someone!

Quality Product. Quick and Easy Installation.
Installed these in no time on a 7’ garage door. Drop the door down, use 2 pry bars on the spring to release tension on the cables. Loosen the 2 bolts on each cable pulley and swap out cables! Tighten the cable by turning the pulley then snug up the two pulley bolts. (Make sure pulley lines up so the cable doesn’t rub or bind.) Released the door spring and the door should close flush. If not flush, simply lock the door spring again and adjust the cable pulley tension on one side to match the other.(Cautionary note: The garage door spring is super high tension so use extreme caution when turning with pry bars to release cable tension! Make sure your pry bar is firm in place before walking away.)

Perfect fit for LiftMaster / Ideal garage door / Save big money on service
Original cables randomly got tangled up after 5 years. Had to clip to shut garage door. Overnighted these PERFECT FIT replacements and garage door was up and running in under an hour with YouTube video help. Saved BIG MONEY, I'm sure a service would have been $200 - $300. One Note, I did have to recalibrate opener one day after installation. Cables may stretch.

Worked fine!!
My old 47-year wood garage door tension cables gave up the ghost. SO, I ordered these puppies. Ship was super-fast and great price. while the loops were large than my old ones the total length was spot on.. My old door is a heavy wood roll up and doesn't have the super easy use cable buttons on the sides like the newer roll ups. my cables attach to metal bolted on brackets at the bottom of the door. They were a PAIN in @$$ to get off and reinstall however once the new cables were on, BANG worked smooth and completely solved my door problems and will last longer than me. So, A+ on these cables from an old guy that's never done a cable replace before. thanks to AMAZON and the seller for offering this fine set of cables. BTW watch so door video's (lots of them avail Ytube) on installing these and how to avoid unwinding or if you need to unwind/ rewind the lift springs! make the job easier and safer...
