A great book that focuses on pasta making
I didn't really want a recipe book. I wanted a book that focuses on the art of making pasta, and that's what this book does. It does have recipes and they are useful. But I think this is more about focusing on the basics, on understanding dough and texture and flour and how these things work to make different types of pasta. It's a great book to have if you are at all interested in making fresh pasta at home.

Exactly as described.
Just what I wanted, I have tried a couple of recipes and I've learned how to make good pasta. I would recommend this book for anyone wanting to learn the art of pasta making.

Great book
I bought this for my son who is getting into making his own pasta. I had a look through the book before passing it on and it describes the different types of pasta and different processes employed.Instructions seemed quite clear and easy to follow. It helps of course if you have a good quality pasta making machine although some can be done by hand.To me it seemed the perfect introduction to, as the title quite simply says,"Making artisan pasta". I look forward to my son's efforts in due course.

Lovely book
Only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is that I found a big portion of the start was a bit too going into the technical bits and rather unnecessary. However, that said, when you actually get cracking on the pasta / gnocchi making, it is a nice book. Just feel it's rather too detailed and could have included much more recipes than it does.
