Black (Donkey), strong, easy and not at all bitter.
Firstly, I never write reviews. So something good must be happening here. The coffee brews easily (it's in a bag so what could go wrong?! Yes, I guess the bag could burst in the cup. But, so far, no amount of squeezing and squishing the bag as the coffee brews, has led to this outcome). I've been taking this strong brew black and it just smells and tastes as a (reasonabl) strong coffee should and - the key takeaway for me - it in no way tastes bitter. No nasty kick after even a mouthful. IAnd this despite both intentionally and accidentally leaving the bag to brew for more than the 4-6 minutes suggested (on back of packaging)... even this hasn't resulted in an undrinkable stew. Secondly, the other main motive for the review is to support a small roaster. This coffee must never disappear. A new age of super-decent 'instant' bag brews is really here. It is supplied by Black Donkey and it tastes so good. Buy, try...enjoy.

Strong but not bitter
Makes a tasty brew when soaked for a few minutes in a mug but when I put a bag in my Brew and Go Russel Hobbs coffee maker it is even better, must be because steam is used to 'rinse' through the coffee bag. Really enjoying them and no cleaning needed for the coffee machine. Recommended

Strength
For me its not strong at all but maybe its my taste? I find the brand named coffee bags in the supermarket on number 5 are fuller in taste and strength but still these are a nice coffee and worth the price for how many you get

For the lovers
Was in the market for a good strong coffee , this definitely hits the spot. Great flavour and isn’t bitter. Will definitely be making a follow up purchase.

Amazing Coffee! On my Fourth Bag.
So I can only imagine the folks saying this tastes bland, just aren’t brewing it properly as there’s a bit of a knack to it but once you get it, it’s an outstanding cup of Joe.Basically if you just follow the packs instructions, you aren’t Guaranteed a good cup so here’s my tweaks:Use scalding water. You only need to let it brew for about 2:30minutes. Then the really important bit… the pack says to squeeze the bag hard but that’s not good enough. What you want to do is with your spoon, just rotate the bag so the face is facing you. Ie, the long flat bit is face up and not the crease or corner of the bag, for example. Then with your spoon, just gently tap or vibrate the bag and you will notice all the crema appearing inside. (Think about making tiny air bubbles rise to the top). Once you see the inside of the bag is that lovely tan colour, then give the bag a firm squeeze from the side, which will push all of that crema into your cup. Then remove the bag quickly so it doesn’t sponge it back up.That crema is all the important oils that add a ton of flavour. Without it, you’ll just have bland brown water that’s no good to anyone. This is very easy to do once you get the hang of it. Just remember you need the crema in your cup, not left in the bag and you just need to help it escape, ever so slightly.Best coffee bags I’ve tried. My mother cancelled her Rington’s subscription after trying. Can’t recommend enough.
