Great for trolling or jigging
It's a bit plasticky, you can tell it's made to a price point but it's not bad.This reel doesn't have any braking so it's really hard to cast without getting a birds nest. It really comes into its own when used for dropping a jig down to fish seen on a fishfinder. This is what I bought it for and I'm really happy with it.It took exactly 100m of 30lb Daiwa J braid.I measured 25m in my garden and experimented with the line settings and found the 10lb setting was the closest, measuring 24.6m

Excellent reel for trout
I started using the Abu Garcia Max DLC for trolling for trout. The line counter is easy to read and seems to be accurate. The reel has extremely smooth gears, and the drag is equally smooth. If you are fishing for fish under 10 pounds, I believe this reel is perfect. The one complaint I have; and this is admittedly a personal preference is, the level wind does not follow the line off the reel which has some impact on casting. The reel is not particularly expensive, averaging around $105.00. It boasts 20 lbs. of drag and holds 110 yards of 12 lbs. monofilament. For anyone who does a lot of casting, this reel is ultra-light, 8.64 Oz.

A great reel
I now have three of these reels. I use them on a 7’ ultralight rod for Kokanee trolling. The line counter is awesome and has audible beeps as you feel in and get close to zero. The reel is incredibly smooth and has all the normal settings for adjustment. I highly recommend these reels.
