Perfect Miso!
Great miso in just the right amount! I don't need to worry about the sodium level. People, there is a reason the serving isn't larger! We are eating a Japanese food in a Japanese serving size!

Solid choice
The production is outsourced to China but the quality seems good. It's not a "plenty of ingredients" miso soup but the dashi is good and there are enough veggies. You definitely don't want to add more water than the instructions specify.

Best Instant Miso Soup
I am a self proclaimed sushi/ miso soup connoisseur. Unfortunately, finding miso soup to enjoy at home has been a huge challenge. I’ve tried about 6 different brands which ended up down the drain or in the trash. I figured I’d give it one last try after reading reviews on this product and am so glad I did. Add some boiling water and you have a delicious restaurant like miso soup. It dissolved really well and the taste is perfect. The onions and seaweed taste super fresh. I wish the price was lower but I justify it due to the taste. I will absolutely be reordering this.

Best I Have Found
I have been experimenting with making my own “instant noodle quick lunches”. Some of the ramen noodle type soups have way too much salt and not much nutrition to them. I personally love the taste of miso and find a good one made from scratch has a rich and satisfying flavor. It also takes some time and effort to get it right. I am pleasantly surprised and pleased every time I make a cup of this instant miso soup. No, it’s not homemade, but with some rice noodles, fresh chives and parsley, it is quite satisfying. If I have some leftover chicken, fish and/or veggies I put them in also and it gets even better. Takes little effort and so much better for me than a sandwich and chips. I thought at first it’s a little pricey, but find now it’s quite good stacked up against a time consuming homemade scratch miso and better than any other brand I have tried. I took a picture of it, but can’t find it locally, so I’m glad I can get it on Amazon with free Prime shipping. Worth it to me.

Good Flavor with Some Mixed Thoughts
I really love miso soup, so I was excited to try this freeze-dried version. The ingredients that I enjoy - green onion, tofu, and seaweed - are definitely present and taste authentic. The overall flavor is genuinely good and has that restaurant-like quality that makes it feel like a real meal rather than just instant soup. However, I have some mixed feelings about certain aspects. The beans and other additional ingredients just aren’t for me - they don’t add to the experience and actually detract from what I want in a miso soup. Personal preference, but I’d rather have a simpler version focused on the classic components. My biggest issue is with how the miso dissolves. Despite the good flavor, I find it dissolves poorly even with hot water, leaving some clumps or residue that affects the smooth texture you expect from quality miso soup. This is frustrating because the taste is there, but the preparation doesn’t quite deliver the restaurant-like experience it promises. The 0.27-ounce portions are definitely on the small side, though they are surprisingly filling for a light lunch or snack. It does serve as a perfect cold weather solution when you want something warm and comforting quickly. The ease of preparation is definitely convenient when you need something fast. The jury is really out on this product for me. I don’t hate it - the flavor is good and it does satisfy that miso craving. But between the dissolution issues and the ingredients I don’t care for, I probably won’t purchase it again. For the price point and portion size, I’d rather invest in a different brand or preparation method that gives me a smoother, more customizable miso experience.

all ready to go just add water, nice to stack in pantry, eat as is or add whatever you want
Good flavor, nice pantry addition. I sometimes have a hankering for a cup of miso soup. I try to keep some miso paste on hand, but I end up not using it. This allows me to have an easy to make cup of soup that turns out similar to what I get in a restaurant. I sometimes add bits of tofu and chive, but often nothing at all. Or I use it as a broth base to a noodle (or grain) bowl.Funny, with prices going up, I expected to have come back to this and have it be more costly. But it is on the order of 4-5 less than what I paid for it ($14.50). So current $10 ish price is way better.
