ReelStrap - The Best Id Badge Holder. Better Than Badge Reels or Retractable Lanyards. (1 pc)

I bought this in 2015. It finally broke in November of 2024. And it wasn't the strap that broke, either, like you're probably thinking. The part that finally broke is the bottom plastic piece that holds what connects to your badge holder (metal ring, plastic clip, etc.). I have really enjoyed using this lanyard because I can adjust it to the length I want. I dislike most lanyards because they're too long and even worse when I add my retractable badge holder, then my badge. When it's that low it swings everywhere and drives me nuts. The ReelStrap solved that problem perfectly. The only problem I have now is that in order to replace it, I have to buy 25 of them. If they all last 9 years, it will be 225 years before I use them all.

Update: Have now had this nearly 3 years and it still works great every day.============================Have had this about 9 months and love it. I hated having my badge constantly in my lap when I sat (especially in the ladies' room!) or risk falling into my food at lunch. I can extend it to display my badge, then retract it so it's positioned more safely, closer to my neck than my stomach. I like that the front area is empty of any brand or logo. I carefully placed one of our small logo stickers in the center and people think it's an official lanyard until I say otherwise.The button did become stuck one day and I was unable to retract it, but with two people and a couple of small tools we were able to pry the button out and it's worked fine since.One bit of marketing feedback to the company - your model's legs have been so heavily edited that they look emaciated.

This lanyard works well for It's purpose, and I wanted something that can be worn multiple ways depending on my work duties and clothing.Just a few things I've found:1. I wish that the center reel was a little smaller. It becomes a bit cumbersome when you have multiple badges and/or keys attached. It's a little clunky for a women with a large bust.2. The straps are fabric and don't rub or pinch the neck when an heavy set of keys are attached, however they do tend to twist up upon retracting.3. The plastic connection at the back of the neck is a bit annoying. I would of preferred something silicone or gel-based for comfort.**I do like having the option of versatility with this lanyard, but after a few weeks of daily wear I ended up attaching a carribiner clip to it for hooking on my belt loop. I decided I didn't like having the large plastic reel sitting at the hollow of my throat, as it was too large to rest comfortably between my cleavage :( all in all, this is probably a great device for more flat-chested women and/or men.

I just started my new job which requires me to have my badge visible at all times and it is my keycard to get into doors. When I started I notice most people had a simple lanyard with one of the quick extenders that tend to break very quick. People are replacing the quick extensions every 6 months to a year.I search around for my own and come upon reelstrap and it looked very good and had great reviews so I took the plunge and bought it.First impressions wow this was kinda big but I tried it out at work the next day put my badge on it as it came with a badge clip, and a flash drive quick detach and a extra keyring attached to it. It held everything I needed from my market card, badge, rsa id, and I still have the quick detach available and everything is easily available on it. All my new coworkers were commenting on it and liked the fact that it has a quick detach in-case it got stuck on something and started choking you.Simply enough you get what you pay for and this a good buy.

I love how I can adjust the length.I’ve had mine for over 4 years.Constantly adjusting or pulling on it all day.And it’s held up to teacher life.

This works well, however the nylon strap is starting to fray where it connects to the break away part. I doubt it will last much longer.

I to wear a badge at my job which requires me to do a lot of bending over sorting through large bags of packages as well have to add and remove outerwear for working outside. The company provides armband badge holders, a pita, always slipping down and difficult to take badge out to swipe. The Reelstrap is great, I can shorten the strap so the badges are not in my way when working and it is easy to extend to swipe or use my locker key which is on it as well as two badges. I like to use an item before I review and this I purchased several months ago and it still works perfectly. I will be buying another as a backup.Update, I have had this badge holder for 3 years now, It is still fantastic. The ribbon has twisted a turn but it still retracts and extends without a problem. I ordered another today for a backup, I know it won't last forever and I don't want to be without it!

Absolutely love it. I've been using it daily for 17 months now and other than a little wear of the printing, it's still good as new. I use it with the Recycled Leather Security ID Holder Recycled Leather Security Id Holder "Cocoa" - Owl recycled, and a teeny tiny Ambu CPR mask Pack of 5 Ambu Res-Cue Key Mini CPR Mask Keychains.I really like the quick adjustability of it. When I need it out of my way to make room for my stethoscope, I simply pull it to be longer. When I want to cover the small tattoo on my chest, I raise it and the plastic portion covers it completely. When I want to put it in a purse or briefcase, the lanyard retracts completely into the plastic housing so it's not catching on things. And, as someone with a rather ample bosom, it's really nice to be able to adjust this for different outfits so it's not dangling awkwardly off my chest or catching on buttons.This is definitely one of those "why didn't someone invent this sooner?!" devices!
