Non-stinging
My eyes are very dry. This overnight ointment helps. It takes a while for my eyes to clear up in the morning after using them but a lubricant eye drops helps. The texture is light and it's easy to apply with my finger.

Excellent overnight solution, but you have to use 'enough' and that's what you need to figure out.
Again with the chronic dry eye product reviews... I've had dry eye for 1-2 years, but caring for it went critical on me after a corneal abrasion near 40% last fall. I now have recurring abrasion, or corneal erosion if I do not properly moisturize my eyes all day, or if I fatigue my eyes extremely.SO... about a year ago I began using various 'Muro 128' formula products.. because that is what the research said. the eye doc did not feel that the sodium was needed for dry eye, that is for specific conditions... so we always should be consulting with our docs on this stuff... even thought I'm one to read tons of information and sometime go down my own experimental path. IN ANY CASE... after him telling me AGAIN, that it was not necessary to use the MURO formula products I have decided to try a couple of these other night time ointments again. The first product i used, which i believe was a Walmart or Walgreens branded night ointment DID NOT WORK AT ALL FOR ME. But this product seems to work as well for me as the Muro formula products. I am going to try one or two more most likely... so feel free to search my reviews over time. I WILL SAY THAT NONE OF THEM WILL DO THE JOB IF YOU SKIMP TOO MUCH AND DO NOT USE ENOUGH PRODUCT. I was always 'going light' on it because is seemed to me that more was all over my eye lids and face than ended up in my eye. I think that's just how it's going to be... I can get one of these to last 3-4 weeks using just the right amount... good luck to you all!

Post Lasik
I had lasik done 3 months ago and was told prior to getting the procedure I had very dry eyes. After the procedure, my eyes are even more dry, which was to be expected. I had slight pain/discomfort in my eyes since day 1 of the procedure, while I was still using artificial tears daily (about twice a day). This started to concern me so I went in to get a check up done by the lasik doctor. In a few seconds, they were able to tell it was due to dry eyes.I tried this and there is immediate relief. Like the others mentioned, this has the consistency of vaseline, and you drop a tiny bit into the bottom lid of your eye. And like others also mentioned, the reason why this is for nighttime is because it does blur your vision.Me being the impatient person that I am, I got my package in the morning prior to work (office job), and thought I'd try it out despite the nighttime label. Your eyes blur and stay blurred for longer than I had anticipated. It's been about an hour now and it's still blurry enough to make my eye balls tired from trying to strain and continue on with my work on the computer. So just as an FYI - do not use if you need your vision and stick to using it at night.Overall, good product. Immediate relief! The pain that was there was due to dryness - which I would have never guessed!

Soothing for dry allergy eyes at night.
This is a life savor for me during peak allergy season. I have dry eye that is made worse by seasonal allergies. I take my contacts out and use this before settling into bed. It really does sooth. It takes some getting used to at first. First, you have to wash your hands well. Second, you squeeze a small bit on your finger and place it in your lower lid. Third, roll your eye around while open to help the ointment dissolve. You don't want to blink it out. It will make your vision a little blurry at first, but that will go away shortly. It provides relief quickly. I recommend to people with dry eye and/or allergy eyes who need intense moisture at night.

I Can Finally Sleep Through the Night!
This stuff has absolutely saved me! I've spent the past several months waking up 1-2 hours after falling asleep each night with unbearably dry, irritated, scratchy eyes. I'd been trying out different eye drops during the day and night to try and combat this obnoxious problem. The various drops are fine for the daytime, when I can reapply as needed, but none of them last anywhere near long enough to get through the night. Then I found Soothe Night Time eye ointment. I was skeptical and hesitant at first, thinking that putting a thick ointment directly into my eye every night would be weird at best, unpleasant at worst. But I was so wrong! Yes, when I first put the ointment in my eye as directed, it is slightly uncomfortable; but a couple of seconds and a few blinks later, it always disperses and coats the eye. Then I go to sleep and sleep through the night--the relief from the ointment even lasts a bit into the day. A word of warning, though: this is absolutely a night time (or whatever time you sleep) product only! This is because the ointment does blur your vision; it's best to put it in right before you're ready to hit the hay. Really great product!

I don't have super dry eyes
I don't have super dry eyes, but I have some weak capillaries in my eyes, which tend to burst at night when my eye lids rub against my eyeball during REM sleep. When I wake up in the morning, I have the dreaded "Subconjunctival hemorrhage" -the white of my eye is bright bloody-red, which lasts for a week. I used to get these scary-looking red eyes every few weeks. My eye doctor recommended using a night time eye lubricant to keep the capillaries from getting irritated and bursting. I've used the B&L Soothe, as well as some other brands. I find the Soothe to be gentle, but thick enough to last the night. I rarely wake up with the hemorrhages any more. It's a little tricky to get the thick gel to stick to my eye, but that seems to be the nature of this type of lubricant. And I don't like that these types of lubricants make my vision blurry if I awake in the night. It takes me about an hour in the morning of putting in regular, thinner eye drops several times to flush out the lubricant and clear my vision completely. But it's worth it not to have the scary red eyes for a week at at time!
