I needed a box to store some health products on my kitchen counter. It is the perfect size; but, the lid does not open and close with ease. Apparently the wooden ridge you can see to the right of the box, which the lid closes on, goes around the whole front and sides of the box as "a lip" for the lid to come down upon. But, it will need to be sanded away a bit for the lid to close with ease. The box has a woodsy look about it and would not be good for a formal place. The staining is alright; but not perfect. I am not sending it back as it does the job I need it to do and my kitchen is very relaxed.

This is a beautiful box. It was a gift and she loved it!

I purchased this Handmade Decorative Wooden Box and when I opened the box the inside wood was infested with termites, or some type of wood destroying bugs. I immediately sealed it in a plastic bag and tossed it in the trash can outside of my house. I would give a lower rating than one star if possible. I am hoping to get a refund from Amazon, even though I tossed the item in the trash. I was not going to return it due to the bug infestation.
