Pastel Box Measurements - Made in China - Great Box!
Measurements in Imperial and Metric:If you take out the foam padding the distance from the bottom of the drawer to the top of the drawer to close for clearance is just under 5/8" or just shy of 3 cm/ 15 mm. The foam padding takes away just over 1/8" or ~ 4 mm for your supplies. The dividers are 1/8" or just about 3 mm thick and are cut shorter in height to accommodate the foam padding. The inside length of the drawer is 14" or 35 cm + 6 mm. The drawers are 7 - 13/16" or 19 cm + 8 mm deep from front to back. If you have really thick pastels or want to store something else I hope this helps you out.I'm able to fit an entire 120 set of Faber-Castell Polychromos colored pencils in this box and have a bit of room to spare. I have attached photos showing sculpting tools, Derwent Drawing pencils, blending stumps, General's pencil extender, and a thick silicone shaping tool with three stacked dividers for demonstration of use. The Derwent Drawing pencils are thicker and longer than Faber-Castell and they crowd the blending stump in the back of the drawer. The tin set of six Faber-Castell drawing 9000 graphite pencils fit and the drawer closes smoothly with the foam padding left in. Caran D' Ache Luminance pencils are the same length as Faber-Castell but have their own box I keep them in for now. Prismacolor would fit just fine as would any watercolor pencil. I wanted to show you what you can get away with even if the foam padding is left in the drawer. If you take out the dividers you can add one pencil for each divider you remove and store it under the foam padding if you prefer. This box is made of birch wood but the bottom of the drawers and dividers are made of masonite. Note the photo shows birch wood dividers and I was able to remove mine easily. If you want to store any kind of wet media at all - DON'T. Masonite will swell so replace those two parts with real wood, seal them, and you should be okay. There are plenty of ArtBin brand plastic tool boxes that will work for wet media supplies. If you don't like the birch then paint or stain it. Get creative with this beautiful box! When you get this pastel box take it out of it's cardboard package and put it on a surface that won't stain to air it out. Pull out the drawers and foam to speed it up a bit with a fan. This is a fantastic box considering my alternatives were to buy glass frogs, plastic cups, mason jars, pencil carousels, or a bunch of other stuff that won't help protect the pencils during a move and waste valuable working space. I'll be moving to another apartment and see no need to put them in something that I'll have to take them out of in order to protect the pencils. This box is sturdier than it looks but will weigh a bit more when you have your supplies in it. Don't put it on a weak shelf and be aware that the drawers easily slide out. It's a joy to use and the drawers can be easily stacked when you work or play. You can't expect a mahogany "James Bond" type of pencil case when this is listed and made for storing just pastels at a very affordable price point. It's easy to customize, practical, and for the price of $24.99 you can't beat the quality for something made in China. While they may have a bad reputation for poor quality I got more than what I paid for with this pastel box and I'm very happy with my purchase. Thank you.

Excellent Quality!
I bought three of these boxes. They are listed as pastel boxes but, after I bought the first one I was so impressed with the quality I decided to buy two more to organize all my colored pencils. I have several sets of pencils and the features of these boxes work perfectly for them. In addition to the boxes looking neat and professional, there is a thin foam liner in each drawer tray that cushions the pencils so they don’t roll around, the trays are divided into sections. The dividers are removable, I’m not sure if they are meant to be but they are a loose fit for the slots, they just fit, so, they can be stationary or removed to make larger sections. I think if someone needed them to be permanent, the dividers could be glued in. The drawers are deep enough that I can actually layer the pencils 2 deep making almost twice the room in each drawer. The boxes and drawers are well constructed with each featuring dovetailed detail indicating good construction. Some other reviewers have complained about an odor from their purchased boxes but I only noticed (which I think) was a slight glue odor on one set I purchased. I set that box outside in the sun with the drawers removed for a day and any odor was quickly dissipated. I have had the boxes for a couple months now and don’t notice anything. These boxes were purchased one after the other and all were shipped promptly. I have done alot business with the art supplier of these boxes for other art supplies and they are very professional and prompt, each box arrived in less than a week. I'm very pleased with these purchases.

Initial quality looks good
Just got this today. I compared this item with some others prior to purchase, and this one appeared to be a good value, and that seems to be the case. Good construction quality. Good fit and finish for what it is. Drawers slide in and out well enough without striking the adjacent drawer, and pull out completely & easily if you need to have them all the way out.I am using mine as a sort of stand for my desktop computer monitor. I put a wood riser from my woodshop below it, as to raise it up a bit so that when accessing the bottom drawer, it pulls out above my keyboard. Works like a charm so far. Plan to use it for storing writing instruments. There is a slight odor when I extracted it from it's cardboard box. It's not terrible, and I expect it should subside now that it's in the open, airing out. Can't identify if the smell is the wood, the glue, or a bit of both. Don't let this put you off though. As I write this, only moments after opening it up, I do not smell it at all, and only did smell when I stuck it up to my nose initially. The only reason I bring this up is one of the reviews (either this item or a comparable) warned about bad odor, but I'm saying it's a non-issue for me.I like the natural wood finish and am very please with my purchase.

Excellent stone storage!
I love this set of shallow drawers. It is perfect for storing the stones I use in my silver smithing side gig.I ended up taking out the foam inserts because they didn’t lay right. There is also a strong chemical smell that comes from the wood. I let it sit out in the sun for a day and it helped quite a bit.

It holds things.
I'm using this for storing an assortment of colored felt tipped markers. It works for that. The drawers move pretty well for not having slides. My primary complaint is the smell. It has a very strong unusual smell. I removed the foam liners from the drawers. Didn't go away. Sprayed it with some antibacterial odor sprays of various flavors. No noticeable change. My next move is going to be coating the whole thing in urethane, which at least that smell will eventually go away.
