Five Star Zipper Binder, 2 Inch 3-Ring Binder for School, 6 Pocket Expanding File, 380 Sheet Capacity, Purple (72540)

The media could not be loaded.  Our 6 grader is having some hard time getting used to the local school system: we moved here from EU and teaching style, homework are completely different over there...After having watched some tutorials online, we decided to purchase a good organizer binder and help him with the work organization. Since the different full size organizers look very similar to each other, we decided to purchase the most popular four and compare them before taking our decision. This fromm Five Star was our winner, no doubts.We compared this Five Star one with an "Amazon Basics 3 Ring Binder with Zipper", a "Case-it The Mighty Zip Tab Zipper Binder 3 Inch O-Rings 5 Pocket" and a "Case-it Universal 2 Inch 3 Ring Zipper Binder". Please watch the video attached for better understanding.Besides the fact Five Star is definitely better made, more sturdy, better made handle and in general more attention to details, it has also more internal pockets and useful storage space.Amazon basic was immediately canceled from the selection as a matter of fact rings are way too big, huge I would say, and materials are quite poor. No space for chromebook, nor for calculator and pens.The 2 Case-it - even if nice - are also not the best in terms of quality: the 3 inches one (bigger of the two) is nice but does not have space for chromebook and calculator. The 2 inches one (smaller of the two) has a pocket for chromebook but not for pens and calculators. Furthermore it is not big enough for the use we wanna do.This one from Five Star is big enough, well made, has space dedicated for calculator, for pens and the front pocket - even if not specifically made for chromebook - it can be used without problems for that purpose.We cannot say how long this is going to last but - so far - we are happy with the decision taken.According to tutorials online, the organizer must hold 4 pocket folders (2 x math, language, science) and 2 for homework (to be done, to be turned in) plus a notebook, a ring pen pouch, calculator, extra pens, chromebook).

It’s a great binder, with zipper and files, makes organizing easier, but… rings don’t last more than a year, they don’t connect they way they should hence you can’t flip. Pages fall off broken ring. We don’t even use it every day.I had one for myself and one for my son. Encountered same problem.

My son loved this binder for school, very durable for a teenage boy, looks great. Shoulder strap makes it easy to Cary, the size is perfect for all his needs. Will purchase again

Great for kids at school! My son needed a binder that didn't spill everything out constantly. After dropping his binder several times and his items going everywhere we decided to get him this. It contains all his work and keeps it contained

I got this binder for my daughter when she started 6th grade she is now in 9th and the binder lasted all three years. The binder did get a hole in it on the top and some stains on the back of the back of it but that’s to be expected as she used it everyday (except for summer). Now my son is going into 6th and also wanted a binder so I purchased another for him In a different color. Both binders have worked great for everyday use. The only thing that I can find troubling is that I can’t find a way to remove the stains as even water would stain it. But overall it’s one of the best products you can get if you want it to last.

Great quality. A little pricey compared to others I saw but this was the color my daughter wanted. She says it’s a little big to fit in her backpack but that is a common complaint from everyone at school no matter the brand. Zipper closure works great.

Low quality product. Completely worn product, useless. The product has a lot of dirty and has the name of the previous owner made with marker in big letters.Very dissapointing experience. Avoid this "like new" product.

I cannot speak to durability yet, I haven't had it long enough. But I like the design and features: pockets that can be accessed from in/outside which are suitable for holding 4 - 6 small paperback books/booklets or similarly sized items; a pocket for a phone or calculator or some pens and pencils, and room for a fair bit of paper in addition to the mentioned items.I do not care for the plastic zippers; while they may last forever with gentle use, I did discover that one of my zippers had one tooth jammed with another, causing a kink in the zipper which will be the failure point sometime down the road. And the handle should be placed on the opening side of the binder, not the hinge side, so that when the main zipper fails, everything doesn't fall out on the floor.My binder won't be seeing a lot of abuse as it's going to be used mostly at home on my desk; I got it more as a portable place to keep related printed materials and booklets, rather than because I wanted a binder. I expect it will serve the intended purpose for a long time.
