An exquisite piece, truly a work of a master craftsman. The whole package is an experience. Arrives in a nice custom made wooden display box, a soft pouch, and some little booklets explaining the history of the Laguiole knife, its origins and materials, about the craftsmen etc. What a great gift this would make for someone who appreciates and collects fine knives, or even someone who wants a quality cheese, fruit and meat slicing knife.The knife itself is simply stunning to hold. Handmade and solid snap to the blade when it opens and closes, nicely polished, all parts are smooth and detailed. You can feel this is a real Laguiole from France. The horn tip handles are shiny and mouth with a great “grain” to them, and the dotted Sheperd’s cross inlaid is such a nice touch. Mirror polished blade proudly displaying “Laguiole en Aubrac”, with a very sharp edge. The spring back has such intricate detail too. Worth the price.I originally bought it to use for light during the kitchen like slicing fruits, cheeses, bread etc for snacking, like a paring knife, but this knife is so beautiful I’m almost afraid to use it. I may just keep this in my collection as a wonderful display piece, and order another slighter cheaper Laguiole one (with olive wood handles and satin blade) to actually use for food and stuff, that way I don’t feel like I’ll scratch this one up, as it’s a masterpiece.You’re buying a real, authentic collectible Laguiole pocket knife.

Exceeded my expectations

I had some great expectations for a knife for that price. but the blade stopper broke after one month and made it unusable.I am extremely disappointed with the quality and craftmaship of the knife. Laguiole has many brands and this one is overly expensive and poor quality.

I was searching for a unique gift for my Hubby and this knife fit the bill! It is absolutely beautiful.

I think it's a very well made knife. And I'm hoping my son will love it. He collects knives and I know he doesn't have this one.

The spring broke into two pieces in less than two months. Very disappointing.
