Beautiful, quality set
I searched for this and similar sets for several months wanting the best Isle of Lewis set I could reasonably obtain. I finally decided on this and have been very pleased. Large, hefty, and detailed. My only complaint, or lament, is that all of the pieces are repeats between the red pieces and the white pieces, as well as left side pieces and right side pieces. I would happily have paid a premium to have every piece unique. That being said, it is a very well made, very well packaged, and very attractive set.

Beautiful set!
My husband is a master chess player. He’s been collecting beautiful chess sets. I gave this set to him for his birthday, and he really likes it! While I’m not much of a player, I do enjoy a fine chess set. I was debating for a while if to get black or red pieces. I finally decided red might show off the details better than black. I like what I chose, it’s a very nice set! I like the way the pieces are weighted, they feel good in your hand. I also got the book about the Lewis chess men to go with the set. There’s a lot of really good info in there.

Beautiful set! Love the red!
Quality is great. The pieces are beautiful. The packaging is perfect. All the pieces have a foam home made to cushion them and keep them safe. Fun to play with although with any set like this you will need to devote a little more effort to keep the pieces straight - the rooks look like bishops for example. But worth all of that. Need 2 inch squares on your board minimum to have the pieces fit well. Also the extra queens are a super nice touch.

Just beautiful.
This is an incredible chess set. The craftsmanship is superb. And they are way better than the British museum edition. It's worth the money.

Very impressed!
My wife and I saw the original Lewis Chessmen at the British Museum in September 2019 and I immediately knew I would like to own a replica. I had read a book that said originally the pieces where white and red which let me to this set. I am very happy with the attention to detail and the look and feel off these pieces! The delivery took less by several days than estimated. Very happy.

Great Historic Chess set
I've admired the Isle of Lewis Chess men for a while and have been well pleased with this' version. Well made and packaged in a quite nice way to protect and display it if wanted It is well deserving of a high quality aesthetically designed board reflecting the Cultural origins of the pieces--Viking and Celtic! I find the Chessmen so interesting that I've purchased several books on their origin.
