great machine for professionals
I am a professional seamstress and must have quality equipment. The two hemmers I have used for 20 years needed servicing at the same time and I couldn't wait so I bought this, and got the two-day shipping. What a wonderful machine! It does not come with the best instruction...when I get more adept, I may do a video tutorial, something the company really should do. It's not at all easy to thread but I figured out a trick--cut the thread off near the spool, leaving yourself 10 inches or so to tie on the new color, then simply pull the thread through. I'm hoping to never have to thread it again! Another trick, since it does not come with a built-in light, I got one of those magnetic LED gooseneck lamps (waiting for that to arrive--it will make all the difference).I'm still learning how to adjust the tension, stitch length and depth, etc. but so far, this has been a boon to my business. It says to oil it every day! Which I think is excessive but I don't want to risk damaging my new friend so I do it every other. If you don't use it often, I would definitely oil it before beginning use after a long period of time. This machine is well worth the money. The stitches really are invisible, something that was more difficult to achieve on my previous two machines.

Such a helpful machine!
At my flea market (indoor) booth, I'm set up to create sewing/quilting projects. As part of that, I make curtains, RV seat cushions, quilts, and I make minor garment alterations for clients. When I need to make a blind hem, it's a tedious process - rather, it used to be tedious. This sweet little Consew Blindstitch machine allows me to hem items in under two minutes! The instruction book is well written with good illustrations, so someone who's never seen one of these before (like me) can get up and running quickly. Once I read the book and assembled the few parts which needed to be put on the machine, I was able to thread it and start using it successfully almost immediately. It comes with all the tools shown in my pictures, including a knee lifter which is a huge help. I'm still practicing with learning the best tension settings for different fabrics, but I'm very happy with this blindstitch machine, and I've already started making money with it.

Cheap machine and poor customer service
I purchased this machine back in July - and was working well for a couple months. Machine was regularly oiled and well treated. I run a tailoring shop and been sewing for over 25 years--- I have never had a machine break in such a short amount of time. From one day to the next abruptly stops working. I contact the manufacturer and after a very long awaited response and push back to take responsibility (although it was still under warranty) - they agreed if I paid shipping they would fix and ship back to me. I sent it right away. I was then contacted and said the machine was fixed in under an hour- but I had to pay for repairs and shipping back. Which was not what was initially agreed upon. After another rude and drawn out conversation with the rep- they agreed to ship back. I was appalled when I received the machine back--- it was basically thrown into the original box and not carefully bubble wrapped and packed as I had initially shipped it. In turn-- the machine came back damaged with additional issues due to poor packing. I ended it up having to call and return to Amazon as the manufacturer was so negligent, rude, and uncaring. NEVER BUYING ANYTHING FROM CONSEW--- at the end of it all I lost money shipping and restocking this broken machine. (yes amazon- had me pay a $50 restocking fee) GROSS.

Mad love for this machine!!
This is my first blind hem machine. I chose Consew because of the company's history in the industrial sewing industry.Firstly, this little machine is the real deal- very heavy! As far as I can see 90%+ metal construction (very little plastic). Typically machines of this construction are meant for a lifetime of work, which makes me very happy!Secondly, yes, some reviewers are correct--this machine is hard to finesse. The tension knobs all need playing with (I've used both serger and sewing thread and as of now like the sewing thread. I have ordered specific blind hem thread and am excited to see if there's any difference), the threading is different and awkward, and the speed of the stitch can be somewhat controlled with the pressure of your foot on the pedal. Finally, like other industrial machines it'll need oiled (probably the reason for other reviewers complaints, the oil had leaked from it's ports upon shipping- easy clean up if so). I completely agree to watch Rumble or You Tube for instruction videos (very helpful!)My only con is that the set screw that secures the thread tower is just a tiny bit too small and it doesn't hold (hence the fact that its missing in my photo). But that's not a big deal to replace. So my final analysis- buy it!! Above all else, the stitch quality is perfect. And know ahead of time that you will have to work with the machine to fall in love with it.

Very well made machine, well packaged, but needs more 'how to' video examples.
If there were better videos online as to how to use this machine, I may have kept it. However I had trouble getting it to lock the stich and it would pull out the stitches. I sadly ended up sending it back because of that. This was a great price for a Consew and is a very well made machine, heavy, commercial grade. Packaged very well! A little hard to thread the needle, but did not break the thread much, seem to sticht fast, even and probably would have worked out well for someone with more training on how to use it. More videos are needed for this or someone with commercia hemmer experience to help train you. I really liked the knee control! Came with a very nice vinal cover, has tweezers for threading and assembly tools. The machine came threaded, which helps show you how to thread it. :) Makes a fine hidden stitch you can barley see. Surger thread seemed to work fine. I wish this could have worked out for me. I didn't notice much of an oil smell as other reviews had said. There was no questions asked on the return and my return was prompt process. Hope this share helps seller and the next buyer.
